re: 7970m in a M15x....Why yes
Alienware has some (don t ask me where) stores where they showcase hardware and maybe sell some models straight up but I wouldn't think so due to the amount of customization offered to customers.
Best bet is to arrange for someone to organise a purchase for you via the market here on forumnotebbokreview.
As admins say, "take it to the market"

Really? How does that work? the arragement part I mean. Keep in mind that I can't use my credit card for online payments due to my country's laws (don't get me started on that lol), so the only way I can pay is by going directly to the store

Also, do you think one can find a laptop with this card in the 1500$ range?

If you get a Clevo/Sager P150EM you can get it in that range; you won't be able to get any other add-ons though and no OS. You can get a Ivy Bridge 3610, 7970m, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and a 750GB Hybrid Momentus XT drive for probably $1500-$1600. This is the build I'm looking at right now.

Well yeah; thats how most custom computers are.
If you live near one of the Sager/Clevo Re-sellers then you can go pick up the laptop at the shop once it's finished they email you and tell you when to come in and get it.
If you live in California there are many resellers, I live near RJ Tech and Prostar Computers which are two resellers. I will probably be buying from one of them.
Also if you want to not pay sales tax order from Powernotebooks. They have great reviews/customer service and good prices + Free shipping and 3% cash discount if you wire them the money instead of pay on credit/debit cards.
I am probably going with Powernotebooks to save money on tax, when you buy a $1400 laptop the tax is $122. And you save $42 if you get the 3% Cash discount. So where you'd normally pay 1564 with tax + no discount you can get it all for $1368 which is killer. I plan on spending roughly this amount. Maybe $100 or so more.

In the AMD 7970m vs GTX 680m thread someone ran a furmark benchmark with a screenshot and got 67-68C so the temps seem pretty good.

Hey Table, if I have the 7970M, the 7970M xplate/backplate and screws, and an M15x, are there any issues with installing/modifying, or is it a direct plug n play? Also, any modification to the stock Power Supply on a M15x needed?

What is the best deal I can get for a gaming laptop with an HD 7970M and i7? The Alienware MX17 with i7-2760QM / HD7970M in 1080p is $2000. Worth it?

Wondering what the TDP is if some owner of a 7970m could measure.
