Ram troubles
those sticks are going to run CL-8 1333 if you started. And OP says that he has latest macbook pro which means they will work on 1600 speed.
No. It will run at CL8 1333Mhz if you say so. But I assume they will work 1600Mhz as OP said that his Macbook is one of the newest.Even genius without a proper knowledge can be mislead

Re: Ram troubles
I just installed this CORSAIR 16GB (2 x 8GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 Laptop Memory CMSO16GX3M2A1333C9 RAM Experts, however I got it from their ebay store... literally just put it in this morning, but seems to work fine... did a mem test, no problems at all...
There is a BIG leap from 4 to 8 Giggilies... Definitely worth it... I went to 16 because of After Effects rendering... Best investment for the year so far!
But 8 usually suits everybody's needs...[Alienware M15X] - [Stealth Black] - [16GB DDR3 RAM 1333Mhz] - [Intel Core i7 @ 1.73Ghz - 2.9Ghz Turbo Boost] - [750GB HDD @ 7200] - [ATI (AMD) Mobility Radeon 5850]
[Alienware M11X] - [Stealth Black] - [8GB DDR3 RAM 1333Mhz] - [Intel Core i5@ 1.6Ghz - 2.3 Turbo Boost] - [500GB HDD @ 7200] - [Nvidia GeForce GT 540M + Intel HD Graphics Family]

i used to got Kingston 4GB stick that caused bluescreen on my M15X but running well on my iMac
ends up take the ram from my iMac and put it on M15x,
funny that it work on 1 machine and cause ruckus on the other...

Re: Ram troubles
Sorry for not replying to this for a while! Been a tad busy. I got a Crucial m4 128 gb ssd. Would have gotten an Intel but these were cheaper and I have heard good things from the forums here! Will look through rest of thread and read responses. The ssd works great though I just know I need to get some firmware running. It was a bit of a struggle at first since I installed all the drivers in the wrong order. But then I just reinstalled windows and followed the thread and it worked great.
Getting a new stick of ram shipped to me as well hopefully it should work out.
Also on another note I have a 250gb seagate momentus the one that originally came with the laptop. I used a Rosewill case so I could still use this hard drive for storage purposes. It connects fine but the hard drive wont show up. Is it because I am missing drivers?
The original ram is 1333mhz. Hmm perhaps I might just get 4x2 save myself some money I just figured if at some point ever I wanted to upgrade to 16 (at that point it would probably be just because) then it would be easier for me to just buy another 8gb stick.
Also thank you all for being so nice and helpful I really like the community on here!Last edited by Vizzinzin; 6th April 2012 at 04:02 AM.
