Re: M15x and GTX 560M
Weird, your clocks are too low, but the voltage is too high... where did you get this card? Can you attach your vbios?

MSI 675m, interesting. I take a look at this when I find time.

Re: M15x and GTX 560M
Interestingly good? or Interestingly bad?

By the way, I have used the modding of the nvdm.inf file to force having the driver get installed.Last edited by Vayeate; 27th June 2012 at 02:05 PM.

Re: M15x and GTX 560M
This might help. I installed using of course a modded .inf file the NVIDIA 301.42 and played Diablo 3. I have made a log using GPU-Z from surfing to playing. See attached for the log. I never experienced slow down. Plus when I tried it using the old driver I used 3DMark11 can't run then it ran when I changed to 301.42 driver (See results in Capture 2). Also, I noticed that the GPU-Z displays my 0 for the memory size but after the driver change I got 4GB memory size (See Capture 3).
I am thinking of flashing the VBIOS using the GTX675M from a Dell card.
Hope you guys can help me enjoy this upgrade. I'm clueless on how to optimize this card.Alienware M15X : Cosmic Black│Intel i7 940X│ NVIDIA GeForce GTX560M│Kingston 16GB RAM│Momentus 750GB 7200RPM 32MB Cache 8GB SLC NAND│Razer Ouroboros│Razer Tiamat 7.1│Razer Deathstalker│Razer Manticor│Blu Ray Slot + DVD/CD R/RW│1080 Full HD│Razer Nostromo│Killer Wireless N 1103│Samsung 23" Monitor

Re: M15x and GTX 560M
Okay, I see. Your card only goes up to the lower 3d clocks, you never reach the 3d speeds... Let me fix this.
Btw, I don't know whether flashing the Dell vbios on a MSI card is a good idea, it might not work.Alienware M15x | 920xm | 680mAMD 7970m in Alienware M15x

Re: M15x and GTX 560M
Alright, this will fix it. It's more a workaround than a proper fix, but that's the only thing possible at the moment without going into some more involved BIOS mods. This VBIOS mod is simpler.
It should allow your card to run at the full 3d speeds, but you will have trouble overclocking it since overclocking software usually only controls the 3d profile.
Anyway, I recommend flashing it (NVflash, DOS version) and then seeing how it works.
I made two versions, one with normal 3d voltage and one with a slightly lower voltage since you might run into power issues with this card and the M15x. It's up to you to decide what to use, I recommend testing the normal version first, even thought the other one should be stable as well.
If you later want to experiment you can still further lower the voltage... but you might loose stability by doing so.Alienware M15x | 920xm | 680mAMD 7970m in Alienware M15x

Re: M15x and GTX 560M
Thanks for the time. Experimenting with the voltage is the thing I don't know about. I used NVFlash in DOS and flashed the 087v rom. I tested it with Diablo III and I observed some stuttering in the game. I observed that the stuttering happens when there are things happening like killing monsters, interacting with environments, etc.
I logged the normal use and the one with gaming. I attached the log.
Thanks again!
How many times can I rep someone? hehehe
