Re: *OFFICIAL* M14x R2 Owner's Lounge Thread
To answer some questions :
Noticeably quieter when gaming, you still hear it, but it hasn't been a hair dryer.
WoW - 25 man raids, all eye candy in Ultra, 4 straight hours, smooth as butter, and the sound was really nice as well.
I wouldn't recommend putting any gaming laptop by your "boys" while playing, as it will run cooler then the previous R1, it is still a Gaming laptop in a confined space. The same way you wouldn't put a Desktop CPU or GPU on your 'boys' and they run 1/3 of the heat as a laptop.
Screen I think was the same mirror finish. But, after playing on the T420 and Intel HD for the past couple of weeks, let's just say I never saw a better looking screen than I did when I booted up.
You cannot change the color on the alienhead on the lid of the laptop
Ordered mine on the morning of 4/20, through EPP, went with the base build with the following upgrades : LCD, i7 CPU (Ivy Bridge now, thank you Dell), 2GB 650m (may not be needed, but thought as I am keeping this for a few years, who knows what may wind up being needed). I also got overnight shipping on the unit.
If i missed anything, please let me know, will do my best to answer in between dungeons at this point.

Re: *OFFICIAL* M14x R2 Owner's Lounge Thread
Thanks terpsy! Glad it's running Wow nice and smooth (to be expected), and it's a little cooler than the R1.
If you get a chance to do some benchmarks, then I'm sure a lot of forum users would be grateful :-)

Re: *OFFICIAL* M14x R2 Owner's Lounge Thread
xD
well again on Dell Canada it says this while building the machine "Experience movies, games, recorded television or any other visual digital media in all of their glory, wherever you go, with a crisp and vibrant High-Definition widescreen “edge-to-edge” display.
Alienware M14x comes standard with a 2.0 MP Webcam and digital microphone array."
so yeah xD
