Yeah, the GF116 core gives slightly better performance while using less energy and outputting less heat. I'm actually somewhat hoping my mobo dies one day so I can maybe get a GF116 replacement.

Yes this is true although ive heard people havent managed to overclock the 116 aswell as the gf106 versions. As in not as stable and 3dmark scores are meant to be lower. Although this isnt fact, simply what i heard.

If I read that right you said people havent manage to OC the GF106, if then well I like to assure you that you're wrong, there are bunch of people who already OC their GF106 those people also including me. OC aside, the GF116 sure is slight faster but as far as I know, people with GF116 seem to have problem like NVIDIA driver problem and unable to OC without crashing or having problems, though the problem seem to only happen to those with the 3GB version, the 1.5GB seem to be unaffected.

So far this is correct, i am so far unable to match you GF106 guys.
I have been looking at this and i have heat issues that i will try and resolve with a repaste and cooler..

Once i have repaseted and when I've bought a cooler i'll have another go..

No i meant the gf116 doesnt overclock as much as the gf106. I overclock mine aswell. Just meant the gf116 isnt meant to be as stable when overclocking.

Interesting, I guess I'm better off Keeping the gf106. They are both DDR3 right?

If I have anymore problems with this laptop (6 Repairs in 2 weeks), I'm going Asus ROG, Slightly better CPu (200 Mhz more), 8 gigs, 15.6 inches (same rez), Nvidia 560M GTX and same price.

I would love to have a laptop with GDDR5, hopefully R2 will have GDDR5. My prediction is though, that we will get the rebrand 635M GT

Nah, it'll probably have the GT 650M. M11x r4 will probably have the GT 640M

I hope your right, but I doubt it, it would be too big of a performance boost. And I really doubt the m11x will get the 640M, its basically the 650M...unless its the 640M LE w/ GF108 then maybe...
