FPS lag while playing LoL
So lately I have been playing LoL, usually it works fine, getting ~40-60 fps on high settings. Lately, I have been getting super low fps. During less intense parts of the game i would get ~40 fps and it goes down to 10 during huge team fights. Anyone experiencing fps lag on their game like me?
edit: so i figured the problem is with the temperature of my laptop, it goes up to really high temps around 80-90 C. Anyone knows how to overcome this overheating issueLast edited by boedhiman; 14th November 2011 at 12:33 PM.

Re: FPS lag while playing LoL
Not sure what to do for the overheating but my Lol usually runs at a flat 40 fps on very high.

Re: FPS lag while playing LoL
Get a good cooling pad and make sure it gets at least some air. Its only got one fan pushing out the heat off of your 555M and possibly i7 too.
Have you overclocked the video card any?

Re: FPS lag while playing LoL
modified bios, my temps never get high anyway, skyrim and crysis 2 and bf3 all run at ultra and i hit a max of 72 73 degrees stable, that and i tweaked my bios settings a little to kick the fan on max speed earlier

Re: FPS lag while playing LoL
I will try getting a cooling pad and damn you have really nice temps. Mine can get up to 90s while playing LoL on high settings with max resolution. And that really causes some disturbing fps lag during huge teamfights.
Btw can you teach me about your 'modified bios' I really wanna modify my bios like yours
. But yeah Ill try getting a cooling pad and maxing my fan speeds too.

Re: FPS lag while playing LoL
Yeah my card at a 750/1500/1000 will run all the way to 80 playing games maxed out. And thats with my Cooler Master U2. So I can't even imagine getting temps in the 72-73 range with a clock that high. Jeez. But I definitely saw a solid 15-20 degree drop from using the U2. And thats often with it sitting on an uneven surface like my bed. So the cooling pad is definitely a worthy pickup. Plus the nice matte black U2 goes well with the styling of the M14x.
I guess I could lower the threshold on the fan throttle since itd be easier to replace a worn out fan than a burnt out cpu/gpu.
All the way to the 90s is pretty high though boedhiman. Maybe try upping the clock on the card and see if it handles any better. Monitor temperatures though for sure. Because the artifacts you see are either the gpu running too hot or the card itself not being clocked high enough. You should easily be able to beast LoL at Very High with some oc.

Re: FPS lag while playing LoL
if you want lower temps, turn OFF the turbo boost in the bios, it will drastically drop your temps and you will not notice any performance change, and for my modified bios go here: [Mod] Voltage increase Nvidia GT 555M - Page 7 The people in this thread are the ones who put this together and its quite simple to do
