    Yeah I know it's amazing!

From the payment being successfully taken to delivery will be just 7 days if it turns up on time! In all my days I've never got a machine from Dell so quick - and the fact that it's my first Alienware just makes it even sweeter.

I'll be seeing y'all in BF3 sooner than I thought.
    Just received Alienware M14xR2 -- Intel Core i7 3720QM -- 8192MB (2x4096) 1600MHz DDR3 -- 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M -- 1600x900 WLED -- 500GB 7,200rpm SATA (will manual upgrade to SSD when I find a good one for a good price!)

Got mine! Whee! Though the speakers aren't working when I play music or youtube. Hmmm. They were working originally with the windows default sounds, which I immediately disabled, but now I can't hear anything through it.

How strange. Granted, this is my first windows 7, so that might be some of it. I'll poke around and maybe I'll figure it out myself.

Edit: I figured it out, had to dig around to find the sound blaster control panel, once I opened it and fiddled it worked.

Congrats! Have you escaped any evil duff pixels?

Mine is still making its way to me. Yesterday it was in Shanghai, China. Then Incheon, South Korea. Now it's somewhere in Kazakhstan lol. It's going round the houses!

    Oh Yeah !

I received an e-mail 2 hours ago stating that my order has been shipped yesterday .

I hope I won't have any issues with it, seeing all these dead pixel/speaker/lighting problems :S

No dead pixels, or any other issues. First thing I did when I booted was checked *everything* to make sure it worked. Did have windows fail to boot at first try, but when I retried again it was fine.

Was playing Skyrim last night (don't have frapps installed, so can't tell you fps, but it was very smooth with no stuttering) on the battery, with ultra high settings, windowed so I could see the temps.... never went above 68C, and generally stayed in the low 50s. Not bad, not bad at all, my husband is insanely jealous. ^^

Hurrah for no dead pixels. I hope I'm just as lucky!

BTW you can show FPS in Skyrim without frapps - just open the console (tilde key) and type 'ToggleDebugText' or 'tdt' and it should give you a more accurate FPS count than frapps anyway.

Actually, that doesn't work in Skyrim. Which is a pity, guess I'll have to install frapps, just because I'm curious. Supposedly if you aren't using video capture it doesn't lower the fps TOO much.

Oh that's odd. Either way, am sure we both know it will run it like a beast.

Look forward to hearing your FPS results!

Just sold my M17x R3 today and purchased an M14x R2. I'm sad to see my M17x go.

Lowest I got was mid 30s, and that was when there was TONS of water/fire on the screen. Generally I was in mid 40s to high 50s. Hit 60s quite easily as well, if water wasn't on the screen. x)

Runs cool as well. CPU was in the 55-65C range, with a couple peaks to 70C before the fans turned on until it got down to the low end. GPU ran in the 60s, I think it peaked at 68C.

And I was playing for 3-4 hours straight. Not bad, not bad at all.

Oh yeah, and this was fullscreen rather than windowed, I was having mouse issues with it windowed.
