Why would you want to get rid of your M11x? I would sell it only if you don't use it or you plan to upgrade to something bigger; if none of these meet the previous requirements.

While you do have some valid points, I tend to disagree a little. At least for me I'm on the road a lot and always some photo equipment with me and if I bought the M18x with me, I'll have to wear a back brace. This is where the M11x is perfect in my book.

Light and small enough, but yet good enough to play games to help the time go by.

im talking about a GAMING netbook. you may as well do the stuff you do with an ultrabook.

I honestly can't stand people who compare the M11x's performance to that of a desktop.

We all KNOW that it wont match it.
We don't pay solely for the performance.
We pay for the portability along with the performance.

Yes - You can buy a desktop that outmatches all laptops on the market for the price of a M11x.
However you are stuck there in one place and sacrifice all forms of portability to do so.
Before you even consider moving a desktop try fitting it into a carry bag... oh wait - you can't...

then buy an ultrabook. a netbook is not for gaming. there is no point in "gaming" on the road, or even on a tiny screen. iv found it pretty stupid.

Following that reasoning, I can build an even better desktop for the price of an M14x, M17x or M18x. In fact, with the price of the M17x or M18x, I could build TWO desktops that would bring any laptop to its knees.

The M11x has one major feature that no other gaming laptop (until now that Clevo is launching its own 11.6'' model) had: it doesn't weigh more than a typical laptop (2 kg is actually somewhat below average). Combine that with the ability to play pretty much any game, and most games at reasonable settings, plus Dell's awesome warranty, and you have a very unique product. It's no wonder that the R1 sold like crazy when it came out. If recently the R3 hasn't sold well, it's because those with R1s and R2s didn't see reason to upgrade, because Dell's marketing is absolute crap, and because Dell didn't listen to its customers' complaints (better screen in particular).

i see your point. but gaming on a sub 12 inch laptop or netbook is stupid, and are missing out on a lot. and no you dont have a unique product, when everyone else has one too. you do however, have a unique product when you build a computer with only what you want in it and how you want it to look.

The difference being you are comparing your desktop to the M11x from your point of view which is best bang for buck, you are not Alienware and they were charging obscene amounts of money for tech that was worth less than half of the price they charged and people still paid for it knowingly because there 'was' nothing else like it!

If a business works in that gross profit heavily outways your net then it makes no sense for them to pull it. Be it what you are saying you get a much better deal for the price you pay but that means nothing if it is not what the punters want and what they are willing to pay for. Non of us want a super duper desktop we want an 11 inch mini powerhouse.

Right, then build a desktop if you want to. But try taking a desktop to the local cafe, or to LAN parties regularly, or to work, lol.

I own a laptop, netbook, and desktop. If you're ok with the smaller screen and resolution, the M11x could eliminate the need for both a 15" laptop and a netbook. This is what I'm hoping to do with the new Clevo. Just sad that M11x is gone though. I was hoping the M14x would have 660m, and M11xR4 640/650m. But whatever.

and yeah, im sad to see it go. but at the same time it needed it. but were talking about a gaming netbook here. gaming on the go just isnt fun.. its aggravating..

well i for one hate mobile gaming. it just sucks.

but there's a couple sagers out there, and the ivy bridge cpu's being released with HD4000 graphics as good as a 330m, and they can be overclocked..

also, with the new 600 series theres going to be a bunch of them. but i honestly dont see a point in gaming other then somewhere comfortable.

i dont "hate" it. i just cant get into a game when im either, interrupted, or on a plane where theres bumps and cramped with a bunch of people, or in a car where its the same type of thing.

and because i still contribute to the R1 community..

i helped with the volt mod, and i created the bios recovery, and did pin mods for people.

all models would come with Alien landing strip lights around the entire outside of the base so that it looked like it was hovering on the table or surface + an alien laser beam that would shoot out of the laptop and print itself on the wall of the room you are sitting in....

nope because theres no overclocking on the cpu, and the gpu is easily overclocked. but, there may be a voltage increase for the 540m.
