If you like Macs, get the MBA.
If you like Windows and/or games, get the M11x.

Both have a very good build quality.

The thing is that I never had a Mac. And I'm not a hardcore gamer, my games are Minecraft, Diablo 3, WoW, TF2 and something like that.. I'm just looking for nice and solid 11" machine But if I buy M11x I'll be able to use it for more serious games..

Comparing a MBA at the M11x is like comparing apples to baseballs. Besides the screen size, they have nothing else in common. You could stack up 2.5 MBA's to reach the thickness of the M11x, But the M11x is much more powerfull. Since you're considering geting a Mac, I assume gaming is no a priority at all for you, so the extra graphics power is inconsequential. But the build quality of my M11x R3 was very good, no gaps or distortions.

Well the MBA isn't going to play Diablo 3 or WoW at anything more than low settings, whereas the M11x R3 plays both on high. I play both on my M11x R3 (in sig) as my main machine and it's great. In fact, my M11x R3 replaced my G73JH (an actual desktop replacement, also in sig) as my main machine and i play everything on my 42" plasma @ 1920x1080 via HDMI.

Regulars here see me say this quite a bit, but it stays true - If you get the M11x you will never regret it, but if you don't you'll always be wondering "what if?".

I use it as my primary now, hooked up to a 23" monitor. As a gaming computer I've been able to tackle anything I throw at it with Medium/High settings except for Witcher 2 and a few other games that are CPU intensive. Oh Gosh, a 12.5" tablet. I'm so excited, I could almost say 'Gosh' again.
Someone stab me with the village fork, quick.

• M11x
• 4" mobile phone with a 60fps GPU (circa Snapdragon S4 Adreno 225+) and HDMI/USB/NFC/VPN.
• Desktop rig with mega much to much GPU and multiple IPS monitors.

I don't see an Ultabook (with no discrete GPU) or a tablet filling any gap in my line up.

I'm so glad I got an M11x (all be it an R1 [good battery but]) before all this insanity started.

Mind you, that said, I would look good in a Kenzo suit, Dolce & Gabbana shoes, holding a Dell tablet/Ultabook and pointing at something in the distance, with a confident look.
Or even standing next to a Nissan 350z with a Stillen supercharger, holding a Dell ultabook/tablet and point at something in the distance.

See, ultabooks and tablets do have there place.
Just nothing to do with real computing.

This post made my day. Just finished coffee and now I'll point at something in the distance! Although I'm in boxers, and without a tablet, I am hoping that just by pointing I can still capture a small slice of the good "look".

Too true, I what iff'd until the R3 and then bit the bullet just at the right time. I was going to hang for the R4 but fate made me choose the R3. I too find myself using my M11 100% more of the time than I use my Clevo, it really is just for video editing and world of tanks now everything else is the little monster. It is there waiting for me on my armchair when I get home from work, when I wake up, and it probably gets more attention that the mrs also.

Dell sales rep priced it for $1,100 (after haggling) and he threw in an AW backpack and an extra 3 months warranty on top of the 1 yr.

I think that's a good price personally. I got the i5 and everything else stock for $1,015 in September of 2011. I think that's a great price. I only have a 340gb HDD.

Thanks. I am also reading some old threads and saw most GT540 has 1GB memory. My setup is showing 2GB so I'm wondering if its a typo or what. Is there really a 2GB 540? Thanks.
