Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
I did it once on my VERY OLD HP nc6000 which has DDR1 RAM.
And I did it with not working RAM (DOA). It became VERY HOT. Like 150 degrees Celsium I guess. But all other guys who did that with modern laptops did that and all was fine.Even genius without a proper knowledge can be mislead

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
"There is also another way of recovering corrupted SPD EEPROM device, which consists in hot plugging a DIMM module without the need for pin isolation. So, after POST is complete, enter BIOS Setup utility to get as much time as we need to install DIMM leisurely. Insert DIMM making sure the connector edge of the DIMM aligns correctly with the slot and push down firmly until it snaps into place and both levers close. Now press the F10 key to exit. Upon exiting BIOS choose No to not save the settings. After that your system will not be restarted and Windows will begin loading."
this is what it says over at throttlestop support(i just found it..) but damn a little confirmation that it works would be awesome. is there anyone here that has used this method to reflash some ram?

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
It is the same as previous.
I use to press F8 before boot, install RAM stick and then choose normal OS boot.Even genius without a proper knowledge can be mislead
