Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
Could a vmware machine using an os 32 work with TB 6.3?

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
I have followed this guide exactly, and unfortunately when I write the timings it rolls back to the original timings, when it reads the SPD on the RAM. Am I doing something wrong?
I start the computer with disabled driver enforcement.
Run the program, click editor.
Correct the timings, and select Reprogram SPD with new SPD data.
After it refreshes it has the old timings, not the new ones.M14x R2 - i7-3610QM - NVIDIA Geforce 650M GT 2GB - 8GB RAM - 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD - 09/24/12

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
Don't try to do anything with your memory module. Hyundai used to write protect SPD EEPROM. And your memory module seems to be not an exception. To make sure your memory module is write protected, please choose EEPROM -> PSW protection and post here a screenshot. If your module is write-protected the listed checkbox should be grayed (disabled).

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
It is grayed out. So they're locked.
Thank you so very much for your help! Looks like I need to get some new RAM if I want to overclock more than I have.
What brands are unlocked? Is it recommended that I get the same speed RAM and use Thaiphoon or just get slower RAM?M14x R2 - i7-3610QM - NVIDIA Geforce 650M GT 2GB - 8GB RAM - 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD - 09/24/12

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
I do not recommend you to buy memory modules manufactured by Hynix (Hyundai) and Silicon Power. They are always write protected. Kingston, Samsung, Kingmax, A-DATA and many others prefer not to lock RAM modules.

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
Anyone able to get 6.3 version working? I have a 32bit W7 install going with DDR3, and Windows detects the memory just fine, but Thaiphoon Burner just says "Undefined" when reading the module.
Curious if anyone else had success with 6.3, or what might be the issue on my laptop. For the record, SPDtool also reports the same 'undefined' thing...

Re: [HOW TO] Update SPD
DOH! I just paid $22 bucks and I have write protected memory! gah! well that was a waste..... Guess I will have to stick to 180OC

Thank you for all the help though! I did find changed the timing scary anyway... without the pictures on the first post I was nervous I was doing it wrong.
