ajslay, can you revise on the Phoenix BIOS recovery method and practice it? I have some things for you to test.
I have another mod, I want to see what happens if we flash the R2 BIOS onto the R1. Would it enable Optimus?

good idea, il take around 45 minutes to perfect the recovery method and report back.

Someone already bagsed the guide but it's like this:

1) Install a 32bit OS
2) Download ThaiPhoon Burner from this OP
3) Increase timings using the timing editor
4) Flash and run

No, only to make the timings. You can just install XP on another hard disk and reformat it when you're done.

How successful is increasing the ram timings in helping the OC? I could OC to 176 with one of my sticks but only 170 with the other.

Id be interested in doing the timing mod, but id have to pick up a cheap hdd from microcenter so I could install XP on it. All the laptops in my house have a 64 bit os =/

Enough to increase the clocks on one stick by 5mhz from 178 to 183mhz. The other stick didn't change, stable at 178mhz.

Final stable oc: 555/1330/948. Pretty good upgrade from 525/1270/920

From CL6 to CL7 or 8. I'm working on making a RAM list where we can record how RAM clocks in a range.
