The pinmod is already set up. I just need to do the SetPLL and SetIGP to try to get to 2GHz.

cut pin 14 or ground the pin via 10k 1/4watt resistor if you have ICS pll
it doesn't have to be a 1/4 watt resistor...

I used a surface mount one and it works just fine...
How to Solder... please take the time to read everything

Many thanks to "some guy" who just overclocked my SLG M11x to 2.0GHz, for a nominal fee of course. I just didn't want to risk my fat fingers causing problems, not to mention the small investment I'd have to make in tools anyhow if I were to do it.

This thing runs rock solid now, and overall seems a lot more "peppy". Unfortunately my GPU doesn't overclock the greatest, but still decent: GPU 590 / Shader 1390 / Mem 840
Now I end up with a 3DMark06 score almost exactly 7900. I played a round of Bad Company 2, and it was actually fairly smooth. All low detail of course. The biggest issue I realized was the small screen, trying to see enemies from afar. Considering I'm used to high detail at 1920x1200 on a 24" monitor, it's an adjustment I guess.

Well you'll have to ask him. I don't want to offer him up or divulge pricing. I think it was kind of an experiment for him. Plus he lives reasonably close to me so shipping was cheap too. I live in Michigan, USA, and your location shows Mexico so shipping may make it prohibitively expensive anyhow.

Looks like you may have found a short term niche job. Good work. I think I may open my machine up one of these days soon just to take a peek. I had considered selling it but after using it more, I'm just going to keep it. My Sandy Bridge desktop build can wait until next year!
