Me too. But I think Optimus is kind of new. It came out around February, so ofcourse there are going to be some kinks along the way.

It's only a matter of time before Optimus is the new black!

Sorry all -- trying to follow this gigantic thread. Does this work? Upgrading the driver will fix optimus issues?

Also, if nvidia releases a new driver in the future, will this prevent us from installing those?

    lol short and sweet :P

Anyway to Naudan I think its more fair that you go thru the thread and see other's feedback. There are positives and negatives. But overall this driver fix stuffs more than it breaks something. thats all i can comment about it.

Kopicha, since you created the post.. Is there anyway you can post a video on your process for installing?

I know that you have steps outlined in the main post.. but translating text to action is, well, scary, for those who don't have technical skills or the courage to even try (me).

Perhaps, if you ever find time, you could make a quick video on all the steps that need to be done so that we can easily imitate it. Just a suggestion but I think videos/screen-shots are 10000x better for those who are skeptical about trying your installation process.

    Thanks

Download the latest version of PhysX - NVIDIA DRIVERS 9.10.0224
    Uninstall current PhysX.
    Reboot into safe mode.
Download and install Driver Sweeper - Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
Run DS and remove PhysX stuff.
Reboot and then install the new PhysX.

For people installing new drivers the same procedure of booting into safe mode and running Driver Sweeper should always be done as well. It just makes for a cleaner installation of the new driver.

Why do we need to install PhysX & the video seperatly? I thought the 258.96 installs them both.

you dont really need to. and you are correct that the new physx actually get installed as part of package in 258.96. however there are also ppl who seems to have problem with physx after installing the new drivers. maybe not installed properly or whatever unknown reason. so what slick posted is only an advise to ensure that your physx is installed 100% correctly. this step is optional but can be necessary if you have problem with your physx
