PS2 and GC/Wii Emulation on M11X?
Hey All,
Just wondering, for those of you with an M11X, how is the emulation with PCSX2 and Dolphin on the M11X? The newest PCSX2 is a lot more GPU reliant then previous version. In addition the Dolphin Emu seems to require GPU more then CPU anyway.
So just wondering what you guys have seen on it. I am also assuming that you are overclocking your processor when using it.
Have you tried games like:
MGS2 or 3
GoW1 or 2
Akami
Zelda
Etc...

Re: PS2 and GC/Wii Emulation on M11X?
The emulators are all CPU intensive, not so much on the GPU, the weak CPU of m11x means no. Even on my i7 820, I couldn't run in 60FPS all the time, and sometimes the frame rate will drop below 60.

Re: PS2 and GC/Wii Emulation on M11X?
There's absolutely no way it'll run any MGS games. It wouldn't run at any sort of decent speed even on my quad core overclocked to 2.5GHz.
SOME games may play FAIRLY well on it. I play Final Fantasy 12 for example without a problem, near enough full speed, at 2GHz. Considering PCSX2 only really uses two cores that means it's one of the few games you might be able to play without a problem.
Zelda will have a very hard time running because Dolphin doesn't seem to feature the same speedhacks feature as PCSX2, which drastically speeds up some games. Many would be unplayable without speedhacks. Even on my system, Wind Waker ran at about half speed when I tried it.Alienware M18x R2: Intel Core i7 3720QM 2.6GHz (3.4GHz 4C Turbo)|8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM|AMD Radeon HD 7970M 2GB CrossfireX|64GB Samsung PM830 SSD + 500GB Hybrid HDD + 500GB HDD|18.4" 1920x1080 WLED display|Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Re: PS2 and GC/Wii Emulation on M11X?
I thought full speed was 30 FPS. BTW, I have a i7 2.6Ghz with a 5870 and I have no problem running MGS2 and 3 on the newest PCSX2. That is why I was curious.
Try the newest PCSX2 if you are interested. I know 1 version ago I would have horrible issues with MGS3. Not any longer. If I was home, I would have given you the version number and the pluggins I use.

Yeah please list the plugins and what not that you use.
Random info, MGS2 runs at 60FPS and MGS3 is 30 (on the playstation 2 itself I mean).

...You do realise both the GCN and Wii (especially) are much more powerful than the PS2?

I don't know nothing about émulaiton PS2. But Dolphin (for WII) works fine on the M11X. Have tried it with the new Super Mario Bros, very fluid and much fun.
