They did give me next business day which was good. I sold my old laptop (a mbp) to get this one. I really want to play SC2. I'm tired of running out of rooms when people talk about it! T_T

When I was talking to my sales rep on friday, he told me to wait until monday to make my order since he would be back then. I let my irritation be known and he threw out free next day business which made me happier about waiting.
I was looking over my invoice and saw that he forgot to give me both free next day business and to personalize my nameplate.
The nameplate I don't mind too much; it might help resale value eventually.
The shipping I am a bit peeved about though, should I contact my sales rep or should I talk to someone else about it?

This being my first Dell purchase I don't have to much experience dealing with their CS department. However if I were made to wait to order something and was promised Next day shipping for the wait, I would definitely call my sales rep about it, and if he doesn't help you sometimes Dell's CS department isn't to bad if you just tell them your situation nicely. The number I've been calling for the CS department is 1-800-433-9014. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Thanks, I'm going to email him first as I am feeling particularly unconfrontational today. If that doesn't pan out I'll email my contact in customer care. Hopefully if they give me any flack about it I can mention how long it took them to refund my first order... My sales rep was always careful to never put anything in writing, he would offer me a quote and refuse to email it to me saying it was too low since this is a "high end alienware". I would have gotten a new rep had I not already spent hours getting my price down to something I could afford.

I'll let you guys know though!

I ordered 7/30. Original EDD 8/12. Updated EDD 8/18. NEW!! EDD 8/16! My order status is now "Shipped!" Fedex has it in Nashville; this is going to be the slowest weekend ever.

long time lurker, first time poster.

I took the leap as well and ordered my m11x r2 on August 2nd.
Original EDD - August 18th
Updated EDD - August 13th
Updated EDD (2) - August 19th

Apparently my computer is already built but is waiting for other machines to be put together before shipping them all out. So I guess we are all on the same boat.

I ordered the "Most popular build" of the laptop

i7 processor
4GB RAM
BT
320GB hdd etc etc

just wanted to say best of luck to all of you getting your laptops as early as possible with no hinge problems!
