Since shadedurza is no longer updating his m15x software and links thread, I'm taking over for him, making sure that all of the links provided are working and all of the content on this thread are up-to-date.

Important Note: These drivers are no longer being updated. However, with the exception of bundled software, most of these drivers are still being hosted for those who don't have access to Alienware's MyHive. These drivers still work and are still stable so if all else fails in finding updated drivers, you can still use the ones listed below.

This thread contains a relatively complete list of drivers and software for the Area-51 m15x. The drivers and software listed here are split up into three separate lists sorted by ease of accessibility and by content. To learn more about which list is right for you, read the options below and then choose the list you would like to view.

This BIOS image update is presented in an ISO format, and may be used to create a bootable CD-ROM with all the necessary files to flash your BIOS. Apply this update ONLY if you are experiencing problems with your system.

Before you run the BIOS update:
* Make sure that your computer has the battery and the AC-Adapter connected
* Disconnect any third party peripherals from the computer
* Do NOT turn the computer off during the BIOS update
* Do NOT restart the computer during the BIOS update

* Fixes Multimedia Board buttons not functional after sleep when opening the lid.
* Default profiles for screen brightness set to AC 100% and DC 40%.
* Fixes CPU speed profiles.

Other Applications:

1) TurnOffLights - A quick way to disable all the lights at one click. This handy utility can sit in your Quick Launch and do the job.

2) Stand Alone Version of Color Wheel: It contains all the required files and does not require any patching of Command Center. Even if you do not have Command Center on your machine it will still work. Enjoy!

3) Color Wheel - A light weight AlienFX Editor. It can remember all the settings, reload automatically on the next reboot or Login and will apply the settings again just like Command Center. Very light on resources and easy to use.

+ Double click on any zone to choose from advanced color mixer
+ Automatically load on startup
+ Registry monitoring for any change in the color setting (HKCU\Software\AlienFXAPI\Color Wheel\Colors)
+ Can also monitor registry for wallpaper change and set all LEDs to an average color from wallpaper (algorithm is weak and sometimes the color is not really the average color )
+ Remember every single setting so that you need not to remember anything
+ Minimize to systray for quick access
+ Random color option, choose all LEDs color randomly
+ Apply same color to all LEDs at one click

Known Issues:
+ Nothing at this time

Fixed Issues:
+ Load on start up should start in Systray but instead it prompts with a UI
+ systray icon does not disappear when closing
+ some minor coding logic which was causing issues in applying colors at startup
+ Random colors were not saved to registry

Download the file and extract the content to C:\Program Files(x86)\Alienware\Command Center like all other applications and simply double click it. You really need a patched command center to get this working. Works fine on 32bit and 64bit.

Switch to Integrated from Dedicated [or vice versa]:
This script simulates the FN+F7 function. In cases where the OSD Utility is bugged and the manual FN+F7 does not switch you from the dedicated graphics card to the integrated graphics card (or vice versa), this script will allow you to switch to it without having to press FN+F7.
