Oh yeah, and one more thing. I think it would be smart to post the md5's for at least the bios files.

MD5 hashes are now posted for all versions of the BIOS. Having this should allow you to check the integrity of the file as soon as you download it. If you know how to use it, then great. If not, just proceed downloading it normally.

Update -

The [m15x] Complete Driver and Software Bundle + Extras (for Windows XP, Vista, and Vista x64) file will be down for approximately 5 hours. A file has been appended to the driver bundle and the bundle itself will need to be re-uploaded to the server. The file should be back up sometime between 5 and 6PM PST. Sorry for the inconvenience.

ps: what is MD stuff?

MD5 is a cryptographic hash widely used for checking the integrity of files. I won't get much into it now (since it's 6:07AM and I'm fairly tired) but if the file is corrupted or changed for any reason, the MD5 hash changes. If the original hash does not match the hash contained in the file itself, it means that either your file is corrupted, compromised, or has been changed.

If you use a download accelerator (such as DownThemAll), you could have it check the integrity of the file by having it compare the hashes (the original hash provided by the file author and the hash contained in the file).

Verifying the file with DownThemAll.



Input the MD5 hash.


The check + symbol means the file has been verified to be the correct file.

However! This is what happens when the hash you inputted and the hash of the file do not match.

Doing this ensures that you've received the correct file and that the file has been downloaded successfully. If someone had somehow managed to change the file (or if the file downloaded had been corrupted), the hash contained in the file will change and will no longer match with the original hash that I provided you with.

Alternatively, you could also verify files with the MD5 hash using MD5summer, which you can download here. To verify files using MD5summer, follow the steps below.

Verifying files using MD5summer:

#1. Open Notepad.
#2. Provide the following information using this format:

[MD5 hash provided by the author.] *[File Name] (See example below.)

#3. Save the file as any name. As long as you save it as a .txt file, any name will work. (In this example, I chose the name test.)

#4. Open MD5summer.

#5. Select the folder where the downloaded file is located. (In this example, I have the downloaded file in my Downloads folder.)



#6. Click Verify Sums.

#7. Locate and select the .txt file you created earlier.



#8a. If it turns out green, then the file has been verified to be the correct file.



#8b. If it's red, then the file has been compromised, changed, or is corrupted.
