Default Dual boot win7 and winxp

    Hello people!

I was wondering if some people here install winxp on there M14x (dual boot win7)
I did it my self although it was with trail and error. In the end I got the systeem to have win7 and winxp (still with some ata/afci issues, maybe I'll create on new topic on this later)

Now I'm trying to obtain the drivers and is seems that the nvidea gt555m doesn't have any drivers for winxp.. Is this the end of the line now or do you guys have any idea's

    Thanks

Ps. been awhile since I vissited here. back then I had some question the dells 1210XPS (it's still alive btw!!)

Is there an old piece of software you need to run on xp? Seems to be less need for a dual boot these days. I used to but for the life of me I cant think of a single reason to use it now. Not something you cant run in a virtual machine?

You can always upgrade to Win Pro and then you can run older programs in XP mode. Key is pretty cheap on Amazon got the instant pro code for like 73.00. Just a thought.

+1 for XP mode in windows Pro/ultimate

Its a lot better than dual booting XP, and if you do even install XP as another OS good luck finding drivers.

With XP mode, you dont need any drivers and it's super easy to install

What was your initial reason for even wanting XP on the box?

But I agree with the posters above, virtualized XP is a much better option than going to the trouble of dual boot.

I have a program that doesn't work with Win7 64 bit and is worthless in Oracle Virtual Box and Virtual PC (Pinnacle Studio 12/Dazzle DVC-101). Virtual Box is cool, but it isn't perfect.

Of course, in my case, it's video editing software and I think the conflict I have is with the onboard graphics on my Acer. I've never heard of issues getting dual boot to work. What am I missing? (although I can understand driver issues).
