Cheap web surfing and multimedia watching machine. I like it a lot running Vista in 'XP' mode.

Go to control panel, performance, and find 'adjust the apperance and performnance....' option and select the option for best performance. This turns most of the Vista interfaces off. Originally Posted by stackz

Set Start Menu and taskbar options to 'classic'.
Each of those options have customization that you can add or delete functions as you like it.
