reactivating the media console
Hi all
I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me out. Tried the search, but keep getting no results.
I just purchased the aspire 8950g a couple of weeks ago. Everything seems to be going very well, until i noticed that the media console could not be activated (by pressing the round button between the left and right click touchpad buttons).
I don't know what caused it to become deactivated in the first place. Device manager indicates all hardware is working properly.
Has anyone experienced this? How can I reactivate this feature?
Thanks in advance
Eric

Re: reactivating the media console
I'm not familiar with the 8950g but on the 8930g a non-functioning media console can usually be reset by removing the battery (when power is off) and holding down the power button for about 30 (?) seconds. After reinserting the battery and starting up the media console should be functional again. I'd guess it's worth trying this on the 8950g? Hope this helps.

Re: reactivating the media console
Hi mj, thanks for your reply
I tried what you suggested, but unfortunately it didn't make any difference in my case.
I hope others can shed some light on this issue.

Re: reactivating the media console (solved..)
Just an update for anyone else who might run into this problem in the future...
I called Acer support and it seems there is an issue with the touchpad driver update. They recommended just to do an erestore to the computer's original state.
The console worked fine after that. Now it's just a matter or reloading everything....
Thanks
Eric
