Acer 6920G ATI HD4650 1Gb vBIOS or mod mbios Request
Guys really need your help.
I have a laptop Acer Aspire 6920G, in which the video card (Geforce 9500M GS) has died. I bought Acer MXM II Radeon HD4650 1 Gb DDR2 video card,
but it does not start on this laptop (black screen).
This card was tested on another laptop (Acer AS 5530G) - everything is ok.
To test the laptop has been installed other video card Acer Radeon HD3650 256Mb DDR3 -- it works fine.
What has been done:
- the main BIOS has been updated to version 1.16
- flash vbios such dump:techPowerUp! :: VGA Bios Collection: Acer HD 4650 1024 MB
still does not work
Really need help ...
I think that the problem is either in the video BIOS, or need a modified main bios.
Thank you in advance for your help

Unlikely that it will help ATI cards at all.
Acer Aspire 5720ZG "Maximum Overdrive": CPU: T9300 | VGA: GT 230M, 1GB DDR3 (MXM-II, taken from a Toshiba A500) | RAM: 4GB | Display: 1920x1200 "LP154WU1-TLC1" | BIOS: V1.45 "Black edition V4.0"

If I were you, I would scrap the idea of using that card and go with a nvidia 9600m gt 512mb ddr3.

Guys
Thank you very much for your help
but I can not download the mod bios for the 6920g.
What about nvidia 9600m then I have a card from HP --- FX770m 512mb ddr3 (it is the same 9600m) but I also can not start it on this notebook (vbios flashed from this forum board with Acer id) may be need mod main bios, but i can't download it from ifile.it/x32v8gz/V116_MXM.ROM

Re: Acer 6920G ATI HD4650 1Gb vBIOS or mod mbios Request
I could download it and upload somewhere else for you, but I just tried myself and had no problems. Also, it is nice to have this bios anyway, because it gives you some nice extra options that aren't there in the normal bios.
*Edit* Try this, its the same one I'm using now. Just make sure you are plugged in and have a battery in when flashing, I have seen a flash go wrong before and its hard to fix if it does.
Ill also look into vbios updates and such and ill let you know if there is one. I need to upgrade mine also and am going for a 9600m gt. (Sorry I don't have much experience with ATI cards)
Good luck!Last edited by ajbutch123; 28th May 2012 at 05:41 AM.
