Acer 8930 AC power plug replacement

I would hate to say goodbye to my laptop for this issue. But after over 3 years of service my laptop wont stay on AC power. If the monitor is not completly verticle the power is disconnected. How hard is it to replace the plug? It would appear that I have to remove the screen to get to it. Not sure if it is worth it or if my skills are up to the task. Is it worth trying or sending it in for repair or should I just donate it and get a new laptop.

plugs easy to remove you dont need to remove the screen just open it up to the motherboard.

if you look at the plug to the left there is a screw underneath it.
remove it and the left piece of plastic slides off up to where the led's glow

that and you can buy a plug with cable from ebay so no soldering

Mine went out under warranty years ago and I sent it in. They fixed it and haven't had problems since! There must be a defect.

Hopefully it is the jack, definitely sounds like it, like everyone said should be very easy to replace.
