    Default Acer restore failed

Ive tried to restore my acer aspire 5750 3 times and each time it has reached 21% and this error has occured. Restore failed - Error code=0x45d (WIMApplyImage cannot apply image : The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.) Any advice or solution would be great.

Gotta love Google: ERecovery Management Fail - Tech Support Forum or http://www.justanswer.com/computer/4...operating.html

Many other results from search. Good luck. What I'm reading indicates either the restore image is corrupt, the hard drive is going bad or both.

I think rather that the image is corrupt as if it was your hard drive you may have trouble to run windows normally... but as popeye said it may also be both. Try to use another image to restore.

If all else fails, you could try a clean install from a USB drive. http://forum.notebookreview.com/6465732-post1612.html If it fails, the problem is clearly your hard drive. My guess, however is that the media you have if flawed. That is quite common.
