Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Did anyone tried to use 8gb sodimms in this laptop w/i5-2450m ?
Or use the four memory slots with 4gb sodimm with same or non quad core cpu?

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Any benefit for using modded BIOS other than overclocking or more control of switchable graphic?

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
For me, that was the reason I wanted the modded BIOS. The OEM BIOS which only allows assigning programs to the AMD GPU did not work well at all. Now I can just select the AMD GPU full time.
Also activated OverDrive in CCC and raised clocks just a bit with no significant rise in temperature but significant performance increase.
There are a bunch of unlocked settings in the modded BIOS but I've been too chicken to experiment with them.Acer 7750G-6669 i5-2430m with AMD 6650m Graphics

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Hi,
Same problem here (7750G I5 2410 with Radeon 6850). I too did a check of the AC adapter (even bought a new one) and the problem persisted for a few months and got progressively worse each day. It got to the point I couldn't even start up the good 'ol Guild Wars. Acer Support wasn't helping any either.
And then it magically fixed itself. Everything started working tip top...until this Friday, when it started hiccuping again. This coincided with the Ati Driver update 12.4, so you might want to look into that.

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Anybody know how start acer epower management utility with setup options?
Something like here How to Slow Down a CPU Fan | eHow.com
I can see process epowertray.exe, epowerevent.exe, but that is all.
I just wanna try slowing down cpu fan.Alienware M17x R3, i7 2670QM, 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333, AMD FirePro M8900, SSD Crucial M4 256GB, SAMSUNG Spinpoint M8 1TB, external WD Passport portable 2TB USB 3.0, also few Acer's 7730G for repair or broken ;-) .

Epower management has no control over fan speed. It's just a replacement for a Windows power scheme and not much more.
