Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
New 7750G owner here.
Love the book so far but i am unable to overclock the GPU as some of you have done, Trixx keeps telling me that ULPS is enabled but wont turn it off even though it is checked. I tried turning it off through the registry but it doesn't fix the problem. Was i suppose to flash with a modded bios?

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Welcome.
First I would flash the modded BIOS, it allows choosing which GPU you want to use full time instead of assigning programs to the AMD GPU that doesn't work very well.
There are two ways to unlock overclock using MSI AfterBurner. I like having OverDrive in CCC myself. Here's the steps for both:
Download and install MSI AfterBurner.
Enable OverDrive:
Make a batch file with the following command in the MSI Afterburner folder then run it.
MSIAfterburner.exe -xcl
Should get a message to reboot if it worked right. When you reboot and go into CCC you should see the Performance/AMD Overdrive option. Hope this helps.
Enable AfterBurner:
Also, if you want to get Afterburner working right open the config file and type this statement in the [ATIADLHAL] section as shown. Also note the UnofficialOverclockingMode is changed to 1.
[ATIADLHAL]
UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it.
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1
AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0
UnifiedMemoryUsageMonitoring = 1Acer 7750G-6669 i5-2430m with AMD 6650m Graphics

I concur, I wasn't able to over clock until I flashed the unlocked BIOS, I received the same error using trixx.
After doing that, there are a couple of options you must change in the BIOS, there is another thread in these forums that details those changes.
I haven't used overdrive in ccc yet as the option wasn't available and I haven't tried the batch file option. I will give it a go as trixx is beginning to give me some troubles.

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Thanks for the replies guys.
I have been looking around different forums and im not sure which bios to flash with,which one are you using?
One more thing, im having some problems with the usb ports on my book. Im using a Logitech wireless mouse which i usually connect to the left usb port, but as soon as i enter Diablo 3 (maybe any games, oinly one i have installed so far) it starts loosing connection. the pointer keeps getting stuck at different intervals, sometimes for 2-3 seconds. So i switch to the right side when im playing, but if i connect my external drive in the 3.0 usb port right next to it it does the same thing and the mouse becomes unusable. Is this a known issue?

For modded BIOS look at last post on this page: Acer Aspire 7750G - Switchable Graphics problem
As far as your USB problem, it is not a known or common problem. All I can recommend is uninstalling your USB devices under the USB Controller in Device Manager then reboot and let Windows reinstall them.
If that doesn't work you may be having a hardware problem with your USB Bus or controller.

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
I have a question. When I play games with the trackpad, I'm unable to left and click at the same time. I had a look through the pointer settings, but there wasn't anything related there. Anybody else have any ideas?
And I don't suppose anybody wants to sell their 2 HDD bay cover? I can't find anywhere that sells them and ships to Australia. Ebay was no help either.Last edited by bache; 5th June 2012 at 03:59 AM.

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Hey. I've had 7750g for a year now. In the past couple of months is started to overheat really bad, CPU and GPU can get to 100C under load. I can't really play any new games. Is there a disassemble instruction somewhere? Because when i take off the back cover, I still can't get to the fan

Re: Acer Aspire 7750g Owner's Thread
Are you saying you get no video on initial post? Hold the F2 or F8 key when you turn it on. Should get into BIOS or Safe Mode.
Also what version of BIOS did you have installed before flashing the modded one? Some people have said they had to have the OEM 1.20 installed first.Acer 7750G-6669 i5-2430m with AMD 6650m Graphics
