Default Acer TM8481G - overheating temperature

Hi i bought this laptop a month ago, and at first was super amazed at the lack of noise and cold temperature it displayed.

    Laptop spec:

    i5-2467M (1.7-2.3GHz)
    8gb ram
    Built in Intel HD 3000
    Discrete GPU Nvidia 520M
    320Gb hdd

Lately ive been using it a bit more than usual, and plugging in a 2nd monitor as well.

I noticed the noise level increased dramatically these few days... not sure whether it was because of the new intel GPU driver or nvidia driver. It was for sure louder than before.

This is the current temperature data:
    Core 0 - 45-60
    Core 1 - 45-60
    GPU - 45-55

I reached 60 when I open MSN, skype, chrome and zune. Not sure if that is normal or what but it doesnt sound like a lot of processing strain to me.

I believe the fan quiets down only below 40... and for some reason even when it is idle, it is still doing 48.

So my question is ...is my laptop overheating? is there something wrong with my fan? Because online, they say it averages 35-45.

:/ Want to get back that very very quiet laptop

On reviews it says... maximum they encounter is 35C

So...that means something is wrong here...

That's not overheating- temps are OK.
It's impossible that the max temperature would be 35*C- a chassis temperature yes, but not CPU nor GPU temperature.

    Check out this review.

Check CPU usage- if it's high than the temperature is normal, if it isn't high at all you might have a problem.
You should start by cleaning the air-vents with gas-duster (canned air)- that should help you get rid of the dust accumulated in the radiator.

I checked the CPU, the % is not high (10-20), however sometimes i did notice that CPU peaking at 100% but i checked the processes and it only added up to 30 or 40%.

Another thing i noticed is that once the temperature reaches 50, it wont go down no matter how i closed off all the applications.
