Re: Acer 4720G succesfully upgraded to 9600M GT DDR3...>
You may want to try plugging in an external display to test with that, but the result will likely be the same. Styrofoam pellets are an extremely unsafe packing material for static-sensitive electronics (that are not placed in protective wrappers), so shipping damage is not only possible in this case, but I'd dare to say it's expected.
This is what it should have been packed like: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/820/pict1099p.jpgAcer Aspire 5720ZG "Maximum Overdrive": CPU: T9300 | VGA: GT 230M, 1GB DDR3 (MXM-II, taken from a Toshiba A500) | RAM: 4GB | Display: 1920x1200 "LP154WU1-TLC1" | BIOS: V1.45 "Black edition V4.0"

Re: Acer 4720G succesfully upgraded to 9600M GT DDR3...>
I have a new theory about why my VG.9PG0Y.007 doesn't work.
I saw some new picture in the other 7720G topic [topic=500665]
http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/z...9/P1040687.jpg
Maybe there is some shortcut or electric charge? On the heatsink with the big conductor on the VG.9PG0Y.007
I only did a little file/polish by the screw hole on the bracket... I thought it was enough.... like ttomorad did.... when i change back to 8400m gs
I noticed the thermalpaste i apply on the core of the gpu... it only touch a little on the heat sink... so there was to much space... because the conductor...
Is that why the card isn't working maybe because that conductor is on the heat sink?
Anyway... it are only guesses
But I hope that it is. So I can resell the VG.9PG0Y.007. I am unable to test it in an other machine...
