Re: Official Acer Aspire 5739G Owner's Lounge
If you dont want to overclock: look out for a T9900 (SLGEE)
your BIOS is up to date

Re: Official Acer Aspire 5739G Owner's Lounge
Go with a known brand for RAM, and lifetime warranty.
For the CPU, it really depends on what you use your computer for and how much money you want to spend.MacBook Pro
Intel Dual-Core i7 2.8GHz, 4MB, 1333MHz | 4GB Samsung DDR3 1333MHz | Crucial M4 128GB SSD | Intel HD Graphics 3000
13.3-inch LED Backlight | 720p FaceTime Camera | MultiTouch TrackPad | Backlit U.S. Keyboard
SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) | 60W PSU
Mac OS X Version 10.7.3
Apple iPhone 4S 64GB
Unlocked | Glowing Backlit Logo (removed)
iOS Version 5.1

Re: Official Acer Aspire 5739G Owner's Lounge
Crucial is a good brand for RAM? isn't? Are you happy with yours Tunay? I need a good cpu but as long I don't need to do any Overclock or modding. Just let me know what CPU u have in mind and then I tell u if I can afford it or not

Thanks for quick reply

I installed my new ram "G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)" and so far it is working flawless. The ram registered under windows as 8g too.
Still waiting on my 4670 gpu to arrive and Ill have to wait on buying the cpu until after xmas.

Re: Official Acer Aspire 5739G Owner's Lounge
Ill prob get 1 of 4 depending on the price I can get it for on ebay. Either the T9550. T9600, T9800 or T9900. I'm thinking it will end up being either the T9600 or T9800 depending if I can catch them at a good price. The T9550 you can get for around $64.

Re: Official Acer Aspire 5739G Owner's Lounge
Hey everyone!
I finally get my T9550 and my P8600.
I wanted to do some benchmarks with these CPUs insluding my stock T6600.
|||||||||||T6600 / || P8600 / ||| T9550
Idle|||||||||32/32°C 38/40°C*1 ||32/32°C
Max temp*2 58/58 ||||65/65°C||| 67/66°C
GFlops (IBT) 13,3148 || 15,2456 ||17,5646
SuperPI 1M
mod 1,5 XS 24,550s ||| 21,040s ||| 17,350s
3Dmark 06
(CPU/overall)1954/7719 | 2159/7924 | 2416/8121 *3
DiRT3 *4
(min/aver.FPS)21,3/34,8 || 29,6/38,6 || 31,4/39,18
GTA4 *5 |||||| 29,66 ||||||| 32,59 |||||| 33,75
*1: the thermal paste was a little bit old so the temps. are weird high
*2: After using IntelBurnTest custom 512MB 5times
*3: GPU=GT240M O/C 662/1471/963
*4: All options on High, resolution 1366x768 without AA. Test done with a build in benchmark tool.
*5: FPS while all options set to High except night shadows (off) max resolution. Bars are on 25/25/25 definition on, vsync off game version 1.0.7.0
Yeah I'm getting finally above 8k (8121p) in 3Dmark 06!!
The scores goes more up from a T6600 to P8600 than from a P8600 to T9550 cause of the different FSB T6600=800, P8600,T9550=1066. And the RAM is running on the same FSB like the CPU so the T6600 was slowing down the RAM.
Is it really worth it to change my 2x2GB RAM to 2x4GB? for about 30$ when I sell my 2x2GB kit. What do you think?Last edited by Owner5739G ver.2; 29th November 2011 at 04:04 PM. Reason: adding more info

Re: Official Acer Aspire 5739G Owner's Lounge
how the hell you get that low temps lol...^^
even after applying new thermal paste and cleaning the rills and fan i get 39-42C idle and even 75-85C under load
and not with a TXXX but with a P7450 (!!) which has -10W TDP compared to T-series...
with which program you read the temps? i use coretemp as any other program displays +10C too much...
