    Hi, I have been reading these posts for a while and can see finally that the 9920 8600m gt Graphics Card failure problem is finally going to be solved.
    I have this beast of a machine running T7800 2.6ghz processor and have fitted the 9600m gt ddr3 mxm II card, when old card failed.....
    So my Question is which SBIOS and which VBIOS do I need to get my beastie back up ? (currently runs on seperate monitor ok)
    Congrats on all the work that Net roller and other members have done in resolving this issue, but it makes you wonder why Acer or Nvidia didnt solve the problem, or is it fit and forget.....?
    cheers Nikki

    @nikki
    well since i am the only one having a fully functional 9920 with the 9600m gt i will guide you in what i did

    first you need to install netroller's modified sbios-you can find the link for download on page 1 of this thread.
    then you install the next to last(not the last) vbios mod netroller did.maybe 3-4 pages prior to this one.
    now your acer will boot normaly with the 9600m gt.

    at the moment you will not be able to install any drivers.
    you need to download the driver with the modified inf files in order to do so.
    go to laptopvideo2go.com and download 259.47 version of the driver
    you also need to download the latest nvidia drivers go to nvidia.com to do so.after download run the latest drivers just so they can decompress on your hard drive. the usually go to c:\nvidia...the installer will then exit with a prompt that you don't have a compatible graphics card...
    run the instalation of the modified driver and restart the laptop-mind you that you need to do this step with the internal screen!!!
    after bootup your screen will be all messed up!don't panic! in my case the picture was double and purple!!!-also stay with the internal screen(when i tried the same thing with the external screen it didn't work...
    the screen is all messed up but you can still navigate through it with a little effort...
    go to device manager and find your graphics card-now from there do a step by step driver update by foot.find the latest nvidia driver you have prepared earlier and locate the required inf file.select your card from the list and update.
    click allow on the prompt's by windows....and would you look at that your screen turns normal without restart required
    and everithing works just fine!

    ouh and this is all done in windows 7-i don't know if other version's of windows will respond the same and it will have the same result...but it works you can see for your self on the pictures i posted earlier

    @nikki:
    it was the botom plate of a gigabyte oc motherboard with a fried chip set.
    it was a high class motherboard so the botom was 40% covered with a big heatplate.so it was perfect for my mod

    i am a computer tehnician so i have lots and lots of this thins arround the shop...

    but it was worth it i dare you to beat my clocks!!! same as the 9700 gt lol...

    how did your update pass?

    Hi All,

    respect for your work here! Maybe you can help me my problem too! I have a Travelmate 5720 with the most up to date bios (1.35). Originally this notebook sported an X2500 card. I wanted to replace it with a Firegl V5700. It should work with it, but it doesn't.
    Can .NetRoller3D's solution solve my problem? I see there is an "experimental" bios mod issued. Should I use that or the solution is somewhere else for me?

    Thanks for your help in advance!

    @NetRoller3D!
    Hey - ty very much for your Modded Insyide Bios for "Aspire 5720(Z)G, 7720(Z)G "
    I´m running this on my Emachines E510 - it works great, but there are some problems.
    The Menues in my Bios are now all unlocked - but when i change, maybe the RAM Timings or other things - in the bios it works - but when i start my windows and check the new setings with cpu-z or other tools - there is no change..
    maybe u can fix it? btw. there is a newer VBios version for x3100 intel - lemme know when u want dat vbios to integrate it in your new version of the bios

    ps: VERY GOOD JOB!

    btw: can u change the GPUclock from the x3100 via vbios? when yes lemme know pls! or does anybody have the Intel BMP utility for editing VBIOS???

    Unfortunately, the RAM timings menu appears to be a complete dummy, it actually uses DDR1-specific clocks and timings.

    As for the X3100 issues, I don't know - I primarily made the BIOS for MXM machines, not integrated ones. But I'll see what I can do.
    Acer Aspire 5720ZG "Maximum Overdrive": CPU: T9300 | VGA: GT 230M, 1GB DDR3 (MXM-II, taken from a Toshiba A500) | RAM: 4GB | Display: 1920x1200 "LP154WU1-TLC1" | BIOS: V1.45 "Black edition V4.0"
