    Hi guys,
I'm having a big problem with my acer and i'm just really desperate, because i need my laptop for work and don't have time to fix it every day.

    What is the problem?
    The WiFi.
Every time i hibernate the pc or just turn it off and on again, the wifi does not work, even tough it is turned on in Launch Manager (that i reinstalled like 50 times in the last 3 days...) Whole wifi connection behaves really strange in the last day, I notice I havent made any hardware changes or anything. I tried to reinstall the wifi card drivers, which says, that the wifi card is ejected from the pc.. Which is really strange, but the device manager say the same thing: It shows only Ethernet Controller and no WIFI card.

I found some video on youtube: YouTube - Acer Aspire Timeline 3820TG WLAN issue. Faulty hardware? from some guy who has basically the same issue. What would you recommend to do? Reinstalling the system and drivers? Or making the complain to the seller?

    Thank you

The first thing I would do is disable ePower if you have not uninstalled it or done a clean install. Epower turned my wifi card off, no matter what I would do. If that doesn't work, you're probably stuck with returning the unit to the depot for a new wifi card.

I don't have anything disabled, everything is 100% stock. You just need to know how to optimise Win 7, like disabling Aero, Indexing, and so on.
Care to explain how you optimize it?

The owners have tested the Intel 6200, the Broadcomm and the Atheros seems to be the best of the 3. I would keep that in the 3820TG. My Atheros has nearly twice the range of the Broadcomm in my first unit.

My intel 6200 has almost double range of the broadcom that was factory installed in my 3820TG.

Just got my replacement 3820TG as in signature. The gpu clocks like crazy, furmark up to 880Mhz! Memory not that good, maxes out at 1020Mhz. The CPU is a decent clocker, without HT and turbo I get 3.3GHz loaded on both cores. I got this new machine in exchange for the i5-450/HD5650, so I'm happy. Next up is to solder on the pci socket and put on some decent TIM on GPU/CPU and ramsinks. This little fella gets HOT!

I have never really done much gaming with my 3820TG other than to test a few games out on the 13.3" display, but last month my desktop Asus P6T motherboard died. While waiting for it to be repaired (it's a long story but I'm done with Asus), I took my 3820TG home and hooked it up to my 24" LG, Sidewinder KB and played some Medal of Honor. I was incredibly impressed. With a direct ethernet hookup and all CPU/GPU set to factory clocks, the game played nearly as smooth as my I7-930/HD5870. I played for hours over the weekend and CPU temps never climbed over 79C (although the fans were working hard). The longer I own this little marvel, the more I am impressed with it.
