    Default Solution for installing 2nd Hard drive (SSD) in Acer 8943g and with 0$ cost

    After receiving My Acer 8943g - 6190 laptop I tried to install OCZ SSD hard drive in the 2nd hard drive bay.
    But unfortunately I couldn't get the SSD there

    After thinking about the relation between SSDs and RAMs I thought why would I have the SSD case inside my laptop,
    It's like RAMs and nobody put RAMs in cases (except for heating related cases).

    So I did the following steps to get things done:
    1- Open the 2nd hard drive cover, remove the extra plastic parts in the cover (2 large in the middle & 2 small on the right).

    2- Open your SSD (BE CAREFUL DON'T TOUCH ANY METAL CONNECTORS OR CHIPS!) and plug it in the slot.

    @Meaker

    Yeah for the SSD

    But if you mean the laptop then I don't think so...

    The 2nd bay comes EMPTY so you can put another hard drive!!!

    If you don't want to do the SSD remodel solution and don't mind spending some cash, you can also buy the 'extended' cover for the second drive bay from a few companies in Europe. I went with:

    Acer Abdeckung Abdeckung HDD Festplatte 2ND 2ND (42.PWC07.009) für Acer Aspire 8943G - Samsung Notebook Ersatzteil Shop

    Total with shipping came out to ~$61 USD for me.

    Ok - nevermind. Looks like the Euro site no longer carries it...

    On the plus side, it looks like it's popped up here:

    42.PWC07.009 - Acer Laptop Miscellaneous Parts

    Basically if you google the part number 42.PWC07.009 it's easier to find.
