Re: Acer Aspire 5740G Owners Lounge
Use HWMonitor or similar software to check the actual temperature.
You can use can air (aka gas duster) to clean the vents without dismantling the notebook. If it doesn't help google "aspire 5740 service guide"- service guide has step by step disassembly instructions with photos.

I (used to) speak Russian. At the moment I'm very busy at work but if you wish I may post an English translation (with MotoVlad's premission).

Re: Acer Aspire 5740G Owners Lounge
Your English no too bad. My English not very good either.
I think I understand your Guide at the Russian Acer forum a little bit. My notebook also have SLG8SP585 clock generator. I already checked the schematic for my notebook. They're (the clock generator pinout & connections) roughly the same. Rep+
Thanks! Whenever you have time. It will be useful for other Aspire 5740G owner if they want to replicate the success.Dell Studio 1557 | Intel Core i7-720QM - CPU Microcode Update Rev 4 | 4GB | dGPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 + eGPU: PowerColor HD 5870
