Re: Acer Aspire 8935G RAM
I bought a set of 2 4GB DDR3 1066Mhz Cl7 SO-Dimm's. (Corsair CM3X8GSD Kit)
Whatever combination I try, one 4GB module, two 4GB module's, one 2GB and one 4GB module, nothing works.
It obviously has nothing to do with Windows (I'm running W7 64bit), since it never even shows the bios screen. So I assume that my motherboard (with Bios 3210) is unable to control (these?) 4GB modules. Pity.

Re: Acer Aspire 8935G RAM
You might need to up the voltage to the memory slots a bit. Check what the voltage is set at in the BIOS and what the new modules require.
The 5er Driver's Rig:
Acer Aspire 8935G
OS: W7 HP 64/Vista HP 64
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 3.06 GHz
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1066 MHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD4670 1 GB DDR3
SSD: Mushkin Callisto Deluxe 240 GB
HDD: WD Scorpio Black 500 GB 7200 RPM
Now Annoying In

Re: Acer Aspire 8935G RAM
Thanks for your reaction, however I can't find a way to change (or check) the memory slot voltage. Is there a 'hidden' menu in the BIOS that I didn't find?

Re: Acer Aspire 8935G RAM
No,
you can't change these parameters.
Such settings are usually available on desktop motherboards with overclocking capabilities.
If your new memory modules do not work, they are either defective or incompatible. Back to vendor if possible.

Re: Acer Aspire 8935G RAM
hello dear acer 8935g owners, i just recently got myself one of these, it seems very good for what i need it for,.
the specs are :
win7 ultimate 64bit
intel core 2 extreme X9100 @ 3.06GHz 3.07GHz
4GB RAM
ATI 4670 HD 1GB DDR3
2 x samsung spinpoint 500gb hdds = 1tb space 7200rpm
and from what i hear you can upgrade the ram of this machine to 8gb?!
i was searching all the net to find out if its possible and i see some of you guys have done it.
i called acer, and its just some stupid indian girl who doesnt know anything on the other end, so they are no help about upgrades.
what i want to know, is whats the maximum speed of the ram possible , i know "5er driver" has got his ram up to 2x4GB =8GB at 1066MHz, but can you install up to 1600MHz or more? or is 1066MHz the limit for this machine?

Re: Acer Aspire 8935G RAM
I gave it another go, and fitted 2 Kingston KVR1333D3S9/4G modules (1333mhz!), and this time everything seems to work fine. Not sure if they run at their maximum speed, but my Windows memory rating jumped from 5,9 to 7,0.
After installing the SSD, the RAM was the slowest part of my Windows index, which now stands at 6,7 limited by the graphics.

Re: Acer Aspire 8935G RAM
Anyone tried a 16GB configuration in this laptop?
(such as these komputerbay ones: Komputerbay 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 10666 1333MHz SODIMM 204-Pin Laptop Memory 9-9-9-25: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories,
as I understand, I think the motherboard is limited to 8G, but curious to see whether anyone has had success with more!
Thanks
