Re: The Acer ThrottleStop Thread
Hey, very nice, informative thread! I have a 4830tg (with an ssd and 8gb ram) and just want to make sure i got everything right:
idea is to use throttlestop to lower temp before the stupid acer throttle-it-to-1,2ghz kicks in:
2 profiles:
A) default: nothing activated but EIST and C1E
B) cool: active: set Multiplier: 26, Power Saver, EIST, C1E
options: Alarm on: DTS 15, GPU 73% both "use profile 2"
Questions: is this set up right / optimal? does the profile switch back to default (full mhz) by default?
thank you very much

Re: The Acer ThrottleStop Thread
For Profile 1 I would check Set Multiplier and set that to Turbo. For Profile 2 you might need to use a lower multiplier than 26 to keep the CPU from getting too hot. 73C for the GPU isn't very hot.
ThrottleStop is designed to switch back and forth between Profile 1 and Profile 2 automatically based on CPU or GPU temperature. Try using the Log File option if you want to confirm that this is working correctly for you. Use a much lower Profile 2 multiplier when testing so it will be easy to see it switching back and forth in the log file.
The 3830 forum is a good place for further information. Lots of happy ThrottleStop users in there.

Re: The Acer ThrottleStop Thread
so I need to setup multiple profiles? I just have the gaming profile online with the chipset clock mod selected and my cpu idles around 25c and tops out at about 68c after running prime95 with the small fft test for a very long time.(2 hours)

Re: The Acer ThrottleStop Thread
Well, you don't need to set up multiple profiles, if you wanted to you could do it manually. For example, on the 3830TG, throttling occurs only when the CPU and GPU are under heavy load at the same time, so when I'm only doing regular productivity tasks I can set my CPU multiplier to the max, 21x. Then if I want to game I'll set it to 17x. You can do it manually or set it up.

Re: The Acer ThrottleStop Thread
hi unclewebb
i have a atom n280 (i thing soldered) and can run it undervolted to 0.9500V with all multiplers from 6x to 10x without problems. default min. vid i can set is also 0.9500V for all multiplers. I read the msr and it say also that intel stored this info into cpu that min vid is 0.9500.
My question, is there really absolutly no way to change this info in cpu that min vid is 0.9500V?(i want run with lower voltage)
sry for my genglish and thanks very much for answer.Last edited by hemera; 16th January 2012 at 10:31 AM.

Re: The Acer ThrottleStop Thread
Can somebody upload this program on another website ? This mirror seems to be down for 2 days now

Nvm, got it now..
But sadly enough, it doesn't work for the Acer 5750g, either does RMclock. i can not change any settings in Rmclock.
I can change some settings in Trottlestop, but it has no effect.Last edited by marsjee; 18th January 2012 at 01:22 PM.

Re: The Acer ThrottleStop Thread
Acer Travelmate 7750G I3-2310M. Is possible undervolt this cpu with TS?
Under load run at 21x100- 2100MHz with 1.150v, and the noise is annoying.
I think lower voltage help me a little. At 8x100- run 0.8v.
I can't change the voltage at TS 4.0.
Every little load buzz up fan
Alienware M17x R3, i7 2670QM, 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333, AMD FirePro M8900, SSD Crucial M4 256GB, SAMSUNG Spinpoint M8 1TB, external WD Passport portable 2TB USB 3.0, also few Acer's 7730G for repair or broken ;-) .

acer 4755g
hmm been using this for a month now
this program works
if only this support under-volt i3/5/7 voltage control
i capped my laptop to 2.0ghrtz for the moment it heat around 83c-87c
whenever i'm playing with a room temperature of 30c
if i 3.0ghrtz it (turbo boost) my gwad 93c to 97c O_O while gaming
even with laptop cooling pad...
and yeah IT works.
no more suddenly tering fps...
