    LOL. The only reason if 920XM doesn't work on 8942G is because the motherboard is not compatible with it. What is the specification of 8942G's power supply? I doubt it is 90W since it have i7-720QM (45W) & ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 (31W). So power supply shouldn't be a problem since you only need to squeeze 10W more for 920XM (only if you run it in full speed Turbo Boost). If I have 8942G & I want to upgrade to i7 extreme processor, I will be worried on motherboard compatibility than power supply.

    EDIT: I think when we discuss about i7 extreme processor compatibility on 8942G, we actually forgot there already at least one people who have successfully upgrade from i7-720QM to i7-920XM. ErikO's 8942G is the proved.

    I dont know how much the power suply is, when iam home i will check it... The 920 will workk beacuse a guy couple pages back...has swapped it to an 920

    Btw what is your 3dmark06 score on the asus:d?

    7500 on stock driver & stock clock (Core, Shader & Memory). I got 8511 after overclock my Nvidia. Link at my signature if you're interested to see other benchmark scores.

    Woow nice... 8500 is close to mine lap @ stock(8560) overclocked it is 10354... But that is with old driver.. And also it was before my laptop broke so i have to run 3dmark again 2 see what it is now

    Thanks. I think if you improved the heatsink for CPU a little bit like I mention earlier, you can get score higher than that. i7-720QM a little bit lazy to Turbo Boost to highest speed.

    That is verry irritating! the turbo boost never hits 2,8 ghz..the max i ever saw was 2,66ghz

    btw: power suply>>19*6,32= 120watt

    Does anyone know if VT is enabled in this laptop? Heavy VMWare applications is one of the reasons I bought this laptop.
    I understand VT-d is disabled in core i5 processors, but there is still VT-x if not disabled by bios.

    What driver are you using ? Long time I didnt use an ATI driver, although I used to be an ATI fan , long time ago.
    Are latest drivers so crapy ?
