Default Would a 11.6 inch Acer 1410 be Big Enough for me? and is it the coolest laptop in the world?

Hi folks I live in the Caribbean and hence buying a laptop becomes expensive because of the extra shipping.

About $100 US to ship a full size Laptop from Miami to where I live.

So I was looking at the Acer 1410 laptop and read something about Wall jet cooling.

Can you put it on your bare skin on your Lap?

Also how soft is the buttons for mouse clicks? does it need a thumb of steel like the 14" versions etc?

But most importantly how big exactly is 11.6 inches?

I used a dell Vostro 15.4 Inch 1280x800 and I found it to be quite sufficient for me.

I do work like Web Design and Photoshop etc. But I hate heavy Laptops. I hate laptops with poor battery life.
I hate laptops with lots of heat.

I was told the Acer Timeline would be good for me.

I am angry the AS 1410 only has 6 hours battery life. I didn't mind paying $50 more for 8 hours but its $550 for the 8 hour version.

Also why does the 11.6 inch look a bit more ugly than the 13 to 15 inch version? Or is it just me?

Ow and importantly do you guys think the gateway EC would be a better buy?

I saw them for the same price and same specs, But not sure it it looks nicer.

BTW for heavy graphics I use my desktop PC. But most of the times an ordinary laptop will work for normal photoshop.

Plus the acer timeline 1410 has core 2 duo celeron.

But please let me know if I would find the 1410 to be a big disappointment coming from a 15.4 inch.

It's supposed to run cooler, so yes.

For the trackpad you'd be able to adjust the sensitivity, however for the actual buttons, I find Acer's new notebooks having rather softer buttons compared to before, well except those 14" ones.

11.6" would be the size of your screen diagonally, so the entire notebook might be as large as perhaps an A4 paper? Not sure since I haven't compared it outright.

Timeline laptops would be sufficient for this.

Well actually, the 8 hours would be on idle, I think, so most I'll be expecting on these when I work with Photoshop on batteries is maybe 4-5 hours.

I still prefer thicker notebooks, but well, to each his own.
