Yes it works.I have 4gb of the exact same memory.Don't excpect miracles in increased speed though.

Looks like updated graphics software is out for 1410 (and maybe other units, but not sure what graphics they have).

    Version:8.15.10.2281

I was on version ending in 2206. Anyone install yet?

Default SSD in the PCI-e slot

I'm thinking on adding a PCI express SSD to my 1810Tz lappy.

In this image you can see that there are two PCI-e slots, one for the WLAN (the one with the black connector) and one for the WWAN that my device doesn't have. This one is wich I want to use.

Old Netbooks use PCI-e SSD (See this for example) and I'm wondering if some of you have tried this mod before. The cost of one of these SSD are enought hight and I don't want to buy one to discover that it doesn't work on the acer socket.

    Anyone with experience on this?

    Hello der_mali-
I've owned this 1810T for a year now and I think, for the $$, it's hard to beat as an ultraportable with very few dificiencies when compared to a fullsize notebook. Moreover, this user forum, which I joined long ago, is an invaluable asset and thanks to you and all who have provided user feedback, it continue to be.

When I first purchased this 1810T, I searched everywhere on this forum and was unable to find any information related to a Power On Password Enabling through the BIOS, like most other computers allow.
I like this feature, especially if notebook is ever lost or stolen. If the unit can't get past the BIOS enabled Power On Password, it's effectively a brick for anyone who has no rights to its possesion and use; and, correct me if I'm wrong, but that may continue, even if a new HDD is installed.

So, if anyone can clarify for me where within the 1810T BIOS, Power On Password can be enabled, or that it is non-existent in these BIOS's, I would appreciate it.

BTW: I just ordered a Travelmate 8172, for my wife [university student], but if she prefers the 1810T instead, I'll start driving the 8172.

It is called Supervisor Password. It is in one of tabs in the BIOS. Very easy to find.

    Cheers!
