Re: [Acer Aspire 1410/1810t/1810tz] Timeline Tweaks (2)
one week after the warranty expired, my gateway ec1436u "died". It apperas there is no power when pluged in. it might be the adapter is dead or the connection between the adaptor and laptop is gone bad. I wonder if anybody can come up with some advice how to repair/replace the system.

Re: [Acer Aspire 1410/1810t/1810tz] Timeline Tweaks (2)
I have a 1810t and after reading this topic it works great (thanks for all the tips and tweaks!), but I keep having one problem.
My audio out 3.5 mm jack is sending out a weird sound. The sound from the speakers is fine, but the out is losing a part of the sound (tested on several headphones and speakers). It starts off fine but after 5 seconds or so (consistently) it loses the lower spectrum and sounds "digital". HD audio is off and there's no effects active.
If I play with the balance I can correct this so that it sounds a it should. Playing with the quality (cd/dvd/studio quality) doesn't make a difference and the realtec driver and the windows 7 driver both have it. Using the windows 7 driver now and having the balance so that the left is a little bit less loud than right.
Anybody encounter the same problem or know's what's going on? I bought the laptop second hand so rma is not a real option. With this work around I can live with it, but it would be nice to have it working like it should.

Check the adapter first, since that would be the easiest and cheapest thing to replace. Buy or borrow a multitester, or try a different adapter if you know someone with a compatible Acer.

What driver exactly do you want to install?
Select your OS here to get working drivers
Michael
Hi,This could be a hardware problem since according to your statement, Windows generic drivers didn't help either.
In case you have a Live Linux system on an USB stick, you may try this in order see if there is the same issue.
Cheapest workaround would be an USB audio thingy.

Re: [Acer Aspire 1410/1810t/1810tz] Timeline Tweaks (2)
Thanks for the reply's both
It's on battery as well. I work in an electronics store and can easily try some other ones. Got 2 for my asus (old laptop, now mediacenter) wich I can try (yes I know about voltage and such).
I will try the linux. It's not worth it for me to usb audio thing, because it only for listening music while working in school (I also don't like things sticking out from my laptop). If the linux doesn't work I will take it apart, but in a period in which I don't need it as much for school
I do want to find out why this is happening.
As a side note, sometimes it does function well and when it's not I find it quite weird that by adjusting the balance it works well..

Hi,
you might rather try other playback software instead. You might also look for updated decoders.

On my 1410 with SU3500 and Ubuntu 10.04 it plays fine with a bit of hiccups in VLC, while i have a bunch of Firefox tabs open. Maybe try newer version of Ubuntu? I heard 10.10 performs even better. You will still be unable to play 1080p though. Just saying.
As for Momentus XT, should work fine.Asus UX32VD-DH71: i7-3517U 1.9GHz / 10GB DDR3 / 320GB HDD / Nvidia GT 620M 1G / 13.3 IPS FHD / Ubuntu 12.10
