Thank-you! I love the two-finger horizontal scrolling, and the three finger app launch! I have it set to open Chrome!

Since I installed 4Gb, I'd like to set aside 128Mb for graphics.
you dont understand his answer: in this case video ram gets allocated dynamically (up to 382mb). There are no settings in the bios to change this behaviour (as far as i know)

Do you have a link to documentation by Acer? The BIOS is set at 64Mb

OK first off the 4500MHD works a bit differently to the systems that you are refering to. Unlike them the amount of memory used by the video card is dynamic rather then static.
The 64MB is dedicated memory which Acer has decided to implement. This is not a common setup for the 4500MHD which normally only uses shared memory. However the 64MB is faster RAM then the system RAM so this is a good thing although in the real world I do not think it would make much difference to the performance of the card.
So you cannot change the 64MB as it is dedicated. The 4500MHD in the Acer still does use shared memory and that is also not able to be set. It is controlled by the Intel GM45 chipset and will use up to 1631MB depending on what is required. If you want to know more search on Mobile Intel GM45 chipset.

Windows 'updated' my video driver to a version which looks like the one two versions prior to the latest release.

In this old version, Gamma cannot be set below 1.0, e.g. the screen looks washed out and hurts my eyes.

Whenever i try to install the new, improved version, Windows says:
"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer". But, Acer only has the old, crappy driver on their site.

How can i force Windows to accept the new, improved driver (which i was installed and worked perfectly before Windows 'updated')?

    Edit: *SOLVED*
uninstall the 'updated' drivers, restart, install the new driver, restart.
Somehow if one installs it that way, the install forgets about validation.

    This really was a shock.
I need this computer for work and have to look at the screen in order to use it.
    Intel/Acer, what were you thinking?

don't worry guys 4500MHD is able to run starcraft2 without a sweat.. ram is auto allocated when it's needed.. W7 make sure it's making full use of your 4gb ram.. beside i added a 2gb SD for readyboost..

In my experience, "readyboost" is pretty much just a bad joke... a marketing ploy and adds little or nothing to actual speed or performance. But then, I suppose if you spring for the class 6 or higher SD cards (fast but expensive) you might get noticeable results.
