Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
First, make sure that you wiped all of the GPU drivers good, with a program like Driver Sweeper under Save Mode.
Second, you can try to flash your vBIOS with one of the BIOSes posted in this topic
From where you got your GPU, it could be ES, or even worst, it could be faulty.5920GHGH - X9100 E0 @3.6GHz | MSI HD4670 | 8GB | M4 mSATA 256GB + 7K1000 | 6300AGN | W7U 64 (cdoublejj) / VistaU 64 (Gophn) | CM 120W | MX Revo | E585 | Custom BIOS | CoolingOverhaul S2+TU CM U3 and MX-4 cooled | 2ch LVDS (HighResDisplay)

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
My 8730 (NOT 8730G) came with a MXM-II 9300M GS 512MB DDR2.
I've recently upgraded it a MXM-III 9600M GT 512MB GDDR3.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of a stability issue. BSOD during 3DMark06 testing if I OC the card. I suspect the stock 90W PS needs to be upgraded to a 120W. I'll eventually get around to writing a guide.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
The labelling's been inconsistent (my Aspire 6920G omits the G on its palm rest badge), but if you've got a dedicated GPU, you've got a G model my friend.
Congrats on the upgrade, though. Check back when you've figured it out, and I'll link it.Sorry if I'm not around too often - life seems to have gotten in the way of NBR.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
No, you won't be able to upgrade b/c the HD 3200 is an integrated GPU.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Ah so there isn't a slot for one? because I was looking around and my chipset supports hybrid crossfireX according to ati/amd's site but there is no sticker for it on my laptop.

Crusnik, just because your chipset supports Hybrid CrossFire doesn't mean your motherboard does. If Acer didn't provide an MXM slot (and it never does on its integrated GPU models), you can't use it.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Well there is no such thing as MXM-III 9600M GT, so I guess, he just added one "I" after both GPUs (MXM-I->MXM-II and MXM-II->MXM-III)

If I recall correctly Meaker had one 9600M GT running in his 5520G, but it was in incompatibility mode. Means - 30 seconds boot delay, and running with battery mode clocks. The second is fixable (BIOS editing), but the first - not. ASUS C90s runs it this way too, and you already know how 5920G is running it... it doesn't
To sum-up, if your laptop hasn't version with 9600M GT in there, it's strongly NOT advisable to go with 9600M GT
