Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Sorry, I get misunderstood often. People assume I'm disgruntled or something when I don't use smileys. But I'll be looking forward to what you have in mind. I would really like this card to work. Still have a thing troubling me though. It can play Crysis on high with 8x AA or very high with no AA fluidly but after about 10 minutes, I got artifacting that ended as soon as I shut off the game. VMT also gave negative results. I'm wondering if this is part of the defective batch I've heard about. I'll try installing the new drivers they released recently and see how that goes.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
I don't know if you've seen this yet, but seems here Undertaxxx has finally found a DDR3, MXM-II version of the HD 4650, and even an Acer one--apparently coming from an Aspire 6930G. I've been googling which country wields a 6930G with an HD 4650 but as of yet my googling skills have yet to impress me.

Can anyone confirm this? I'm getting giddy. lawl[New] HP dv6-7009tx | Intel Core i7-3610QM | NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 2GB | 750GB HDD | MyDigitalSSD Smart Series 64GB mSSD cache | 16GB 1600mhz DDR3

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
The 6930G was indeed sold with a Radeon HD 4650, but the 1GB DDR2 version (that's where I found it, remember?)
That, and the part number on this page correlate to the regular DDR2 1GB version.Sorry if I'm not around too often - life seems to have gotten in the way of NBR.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Yep there must be a mistake. i bet it's the DDR2 version and the website made an error.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
I just swapped the vendor of my GPU to MSI and it still shows Acer in GPU-Z (and still boots in case you wondered). Funny thing is that according RBE, my default vBIOS is ATi, not an Acer one. I really don't know why GPU-Z shows Acer as a vendor all the time. You can give it a go though, maybe it would work, but I wont hold my breath.
I guess it is, exactly same problems has had half of the EX625's owners.5920GHGH - X9100 E0 @3.6GHz | MSI HD4670 | 8GB | M4 mSATA 256GB + 7K1000 | 6300AGN | W7U 64 (cdoublejj) / VistaU 64 (Gophn) | CM 120W | MX Revo | E585 | Custom BIOS | CoolingOverhaul S2+TU CM U3 and MX-4 cooled | 2ch LVDS (HighResDisplay)

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Wait, I'm confused... What did you do again? Also, Crysis will run on high with the new drivers but what perks my curiosity is that playing Crysis on very high cause really wonky graphics like square clouds or black skies or the polygon reference and placement lines to pop up. Should I consider this normal? And should I consider just one to zero errors from vmt to be good since it states that the 4670 is not compatible with the test?

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
The original DDR2 4650 (which I bookmarked in hopes to have one in the future lol) was removed from the site, and then this popped up. Hmm.
Can't we like contact ATi themselves or something and ask if they do supply MXM-II format DDR3 cards of this series to Acer? Or am I thinking wrongly?

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Hi there people!
I'm quite new to the forum but i have a question and i hope that you can help me a bit.
I have an Acer Aspire6930ZG with Ati hd 4570 in it. Can I plug in a Nvidia GPU like 9600gt or I will have to update the bios ?
I had pretty much difficulties finding any driver for my GPU ... There is nothing mentioned about this model on acer.com and absolutely nothing about a model of 6930 family with this video card as well ...
Thank you in advance!
I would appreciate if someone has any information about modifications/upgrades on a laptop like mine.
