Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Best you can upgrade to would be an MXM type II 4670 (NOT MXM-A) DDR3.
These are RARE.
More common cards include the 9600M GT DDR3, or HD4650/4670 DDR2.
Either you can get the cheapest would be nice.Sales@PowerNotebooks.com | Phone: (US) 877-711-1777 - CALL US FOR NOTEBOOKREVIEW ACTIVE MEMBER DISCOUNTS

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
So not the 9700 then?
And what about this 4650?

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
How many people are going to post that without reading the listing?
Look again. Not compatible with Acer.
If you want the technical reason it has no bios chip on it.Sales@PowerNotebooks.com | Phone: (US) 877-711-1777 - CALL US FOR NOTEBOOKREVIEW ACTIVE MEMBER DISCOUNTS

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
But is this the type of card I'm looking for?
And what about the 9700?

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Yes thats the shape of the card that would physically fit.
9700 is MXM III IIRC.Sales@PowerNotebooks.com | Phone: (US) 877-711-1777 - CALL US FOR NOTEBOOKREVIEW ACTIVE MEMBER DISCOUNTS

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
What about a 9600m GT from an Acer 6930?
On a side note, would this lghtscribe/blu ray player work:

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
9600M GT of the 6930G should work in the 6935G (but if it isn't GDDR3, then it is not a big upgrade). Probably also the 9650M GT from Asus Z97V/C90S, but that one is DDR2.

The bluray drive should work, you should even be able to swap bezels to make it sit flush.

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Any reason why the 6770M should *not* work in the 8935G ?
King of Interns: this Acer-branded (ie with onboard BIOS) should also work in the c90s and be faster than the 9600m GT, right?

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
I would say definitely.
It says tested in 5920g which has exactly the same unlocked mxm socket as the C90. If it works in 5920g it works in the c90 and probably vice versaAlienware M15x | Intel i7 920XM | 1080p | 8GB G-Skill | Samsung 470 256GB + Hitachi 7k500 500GB | AMD 7970M @ 950/1450 (1.05V)| External Sony BD5500S Bluray | Windows 7 | 240W + 9 cell | Bigfoot 1103 | USB 3.0 |
