Arminator thanks for your guide ;-) Will try that tonight!
I have an turion also but 65nm, bit cooler that yours!
I just swapped the screwplate, it fits perfectly without any modicifations needed at the heatsink.Acer 5520g AMD Turion X2 TL-64 - 4GB DDR2 800Mhz - 250GB HDD + 60GB SSD in optical bay - Geforce 9650m GT UV'ed 0,9V! 3DMark06: 5253

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
The copper plate is completely touching. Have better temps than with the cpu scews. Idle 42 and with furmark 73 at the max.
Is it possible to swap the motherboard to an intel? I hate AMD since it's getting hot and cpu upgrades are more expensive then intel. ( seen plenty of them for cheap ).Acer 5520g AMD Turion X2 TL-64 - 4GB DDR2 800Mhz - 250GB HDD + 60GB SSD in optical bay - Geforce 9650m GT UV'ed 0,9V! 3DMark06: 5253

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
I dont think Aspire 5520g was sold with intel cpus so there is no boards for Intel cpu to replace the AMD one...
Well my my opinion great deal is Turion Tl-66 which can be found on ebay for 80$ + shipping...
You can also try overclocking your CPU to gain some extra performance boost...
Tl-68 is just a bit more faster but way more expensive...HP Probook 4530s, Core i5 2430M 2,4 GHz (Turbo 2,7-3,0 GHz), 6GB DDR3, 640 GB WD Scorpio Blue, Radeon HD 6490M 1GB GDDR5, USB 3.0, 6-cell 47 Wh battery, Windows 8 Pro x64

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
Hmz not sure you can call it stronger since it could do 2.4ghz at its stock 1.075v which is the lowest any Turion can be rated for.
So it could have been rated as a TL-68 (they did not exist at the time) and still have the lowest voltage set.
Looking at my results and my limited time (the motherboard had a faulty power connector) it looked like it was stable at 2.43ghz at 1.0V.
AAA8G 0723RPAW
Early silicon, high quality. ****s over later chips. Just like the first G0 stepping Q6600s. They could go to 3.6ghz at low voltages while the later chips can hardly HIT 3ghz no matter the voltage.Sales@PowerNotebooks.com | Phone: (US) 877-711-1777 - CALL US FOR NOTEBOOKREVIEW ACTIVE MEMBER DISCOUNTS

Re: Acer MXM Models and Cards
This one is just a bit stronger - TL-62 65nm Tyler AAA8G G2 stepping...
I managed to set FSB (HT) to 230 which made my current TL 60 go to 2300 it was stable but it didnt go further due to core limitations and 80C under load which also caused a GPU temp rise...
But this TL-62 should go further due to newer core...HP Probook 4530s, Core i5 2430M 2,4 GHz (Turbo 2,7-3,0 GHz), 6GB DDR3, 640 GB WD Scorpio Blue, Radeon HD 6490M 1GB GDDR5, USB 3.0, 6-cell 47 Wh battery, Windows 8 Pro x64
