Re: Acer Aspire Timeline Owner's Lounge
Do you want to do those tasks at the same time? I mean just having Outlook open in the background doesn't cause any CPU load, but if you actually perform the tasks at the same time it's pretty serious multi tasking and you'd be better of with SU9400.
SU3500 is equal in performance to a Pentium M 2.0GHz.

Re: Acer Aspire Timeline Owner's Lounge
Yup, my outlook usually run in the background while i'm doing my work with excel but it's not heavy excel with a lot of algorithm i'm just copying data from web and i use ie for my office application But while working i open my firefox with 5 tabs and also listen to winamp.
if su3500 can do those task i dont want to buy su9400 cus the diffrent is like $300 and with that much money i can buy something else like external hardrive or even ssd.

Re: Acer Aspire Timeline Owner's Lounge
SU3500 will be able to do it. But what will happen in two years when all those applications have become heavier...
Also, some people don't keep their Windows clean and that will become heavier too.
Adding SSD is very smart because it wiill greatly improve Outloook and other programs loading times.

Re: Acer Aspire Timeline Owner's Lounge
These things are just hard to predict until you find yourself in a real-life situation. Some web sites with video or flash are more demanding than others.
I am surprised by the price difference though - are you comparing similar systems? I would have guessed that you'd pay at most $50 for the SU9400. If it's $300, I'd look at a T or P processor (but giving up a lot of battery life).

Re: Acer Aspire Timeline Owner's Lounge
Well if su3500 can do it than i'll buy it, i don't want to waste $300 for su9400 if su3500 can do it and i'm sure in 2 years intel will have replacement for these lineups proc.
also i choose timeline cus i'm looking for gud battery life, light, And i can do my office activity without many problems.
So i should get su3500 right?

Re: Acer Aspire Timeline Owner's Lounge
Yes. Worst thing you have to do is to close a few applications, limit your multi-tasking, but I think that should happen rarely if ever.
