The 9600 is basically the same chip as the 9700. Only the 9700 is clocked a wee bit higher. You can overclock that 9600 chip so it in fact becomes a 9700. The 1 gig memory you get on the 9600 nowadays compared to the 512 meg on mine is a nice bonus

Hope this helps you a wee bit

OK to prevent unnessesary questions... 9700GTX 9750 9800 etc etc.

    check: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...GT.9449.0.html

you'll find that the 9600 & 9700 are 65nm chips, so technically all 65nm should fit, BUT the biggest problem is that the ACER bios doesn't recognize most GPU

also... I think the 9800GTX is best 65nm, all newer card are 55nm or smaller

I would like to get a very powerful laptop....I need to use it for intensive FLASH jobs.
Playing General and Command as well.
    Visual Studio, vBulletin.NET...programmer stuff.

I am set to buy this laptop[see link]....and I would like to upgrade it a little bit.
    1) I wanna change its CPU with a Q9100 or a dual-core X9100.
is it possible ? Are those CPU compatible with that Laptop ?
2)Is it possible to add a 500 GB internal-hardDrive to increase its storage-capacity.

********More IMPORTATNT: Can you see anything missing from its specifications as compared to a "8930g-7665"-gemstone ?

THANKS in advance to each EXPERT that will Help with ADVICE.

unless you know what your doing, i would suggest buying the right laptop with all the right hardware from the get go.

Replacing the cpu or graphics card might be possible without taking the entire laptop apart. But! You could also damage your components or misinstall the heatsink to the hardware, causing major (temperature) issues.

Again, if you need this much advise, then perhaps you should find the right laptop with the right CPU and GPU from the start.
Modifying it in any way could/would also void warranty.

Flash isn't that intensive, neither is C&C generals (for this laptop).
I have a quadcore and a 9700m GT, it plays everygame I have thrown at it without any issues. Prototype, Crysis, Section 8, Sacred 2.
    No problems what so ever.
I also devellop software, it compiles way faster then the PC my boss set up for me.

I have multiple degrees in the ICT business, if this is not an experts advise I don't know what would qualify.
