Configure to Order
Do Acer sell notebooks that you can configure before placing an order? I would like to pick my own CPU, Video Card, Blu-ray drive etc before placing an order.

Re: Configure to Order
They don't unfortunately, you can only choose from the preconfugured models out there, there are quite a few different combinations, surely there must be one that suits your needs

Re: Configure to Order
just buy the laptop that most closely resembles the SPECS needed..
GET THE GRAPHICS YOU NEED FROM ACER..
the CPU, DVD/BluRay drives, HDDs, Blue toothe, and RAM are extreemly easy to upgrade later...
screen size, resolutions supported and the GPU are not EASY to upgradenbrsearch
catch me at the redlight, aim for my head!.ACER Aspire 5315-2153

Re: Configure to Order
As in BigO post above I also say make sure that you get the right Graphics.
I made one of the biggest mistakes in my life with the first PC I purchased.
The salesman mislead me into believing that I could upgrade the Graphics later if I wanted to play the odd game or two........
Well, the POS I purchased from him had NO AGP slot. How was I to know back in those days?
So, I was saddled playing Max Payne at like 5 FPS. I almost threw the new comp out the window...
My personal thing now is I will never purchase any computer (nevermind a lappie) without a dedicated graphics card
This Acer of mine was chosen by me at the time of purchase simply because it came with dedicated graphics at a great price.
At the time a Go 7600 was only available on a Acer at the price. HP could only offer a Go 7400 at the same price in my country.
So, I purchased the Acer.
To this day (almost 19 Months ago) I still thoroughly enjoy this lappie.
If I get bored I know that I can still play the odd game at decent speeds instead of sitting with a computer that can do absolutely nothing except work stuff.....
Sigh....
Cheers,
Theo
