Acer Travelmate display problem!

Hi Guys,

Couple of months ago I have been in a big car accident and my

notebook (Acer Travelmate 2493) was in the back of my car. After

this accident my display leaked off. Now I try to find a new 15.4"

wide screen for my laptop but the price is very high and i have to

wait 2 months for the delivery. I bought this laptop for 500 EUR

last year and the replacement with the new display is 300 EUR (it is

not relevant!).So my question is can I use a screen from different

ACER model which will fit in? I wonder is it possible to put a

screen from Aspire or Extensa... Is there a standard or something?

Can somebody give me a list or something with the models which uses

one screen type? Because I can buy a whole second hand broken

notebook for less than 100 EUR but the problem is that I can`t find

Travelmate, Aspire and Extensa are available.

If somebody can help me I will be very thankful!

TravelMate 4280/4260/4230/4200/4200Z/2490 & Aspire 5680/5650/5630/5610/5610Z/3690

i can't find a TM2493..... but all the above models use the same service guide

the attached thumbnail is a screen capture of part #'s from the ACER service guide for the 2490..

check your SCREEN for it's part #.... if it matches one of these then you should be able to swap yours with any of the numbers in that list... just stick with the same type.... either XGA or WXGA
