Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
I don't think so, it's really silent, almost annoying (you don't know if they stopped or they are cooling your hardware). The keyboard... yep, but it's almost the same with the rest of Gemstone models.

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
It does whir at a good clip on mine, but only when I'm tasking my system with 3D gaming and stuff.
Speaking of which, it's high time for me to get some NEW 3D games on my laptop - ones that the old Intel GMA 950 couldn't handle.Sorry if I'm not around too often - life seems to have gotten in the way of NBR.

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
Wait for mine to return from the service and I'll make a full review for NR.

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
that sounds really great!
But if anyone have benchmark results already, please post them.
I am actually in a kind of hurry, because it is a gift for my brother. (hes getting married)
Hes still a bit of a gamefreak, and he really could use a notebook. so.
i was wondering if any of you have tryied to play games like crysis, assassins creed etc. on the 6920? can it handle games like this?
and does the cinedash control react quick?

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
Still haven't benched it but as far as I know, it's better than my desktop (X2 6000+, 2 GB DDR-2 Corsair Dominator, 8600 GTS..).
The CineDash panel it's a bit lazy, but nothing serious.Maguay P1501m (P150HMx) - i7-2670QM, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, Quadro FX 2800M, Team SSD 128 GB...

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
OK, am I the only one having issues with their Tuba subwoofer?
I ain't hearing "10 W" of bass, I can tell ya that much.
Is there some kinda utility that I gleaned over?Sorry if I'm not around too often - life seems to have gotten in the way of NBR.

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
I benched the 6920G in my mini-review (haven't had a chance to do a complete one since it's my dad's and he lives 500+ km away).
Acer Aspire 6920G Gemstone Blue Review
They don't have the T9300 CPU in Canada yet. This model has T5550, 9500M GS, and 3GB. In game performance wouldn't be much different with a T9300 and 4GB since they aren't bottlenecked.

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
I just picked up this laptop from Costco, the 6864 verison. I sure wish this one had a faster CPU and perhaps a Blu Ray drive and higher res screen. Oh well, perhaps Costco will start to carry a higher end model before my 90 days are up. Anyone have any insight on this?
Anyways I have some questions I was hoping you can help me out with:
1) The ExpressCard slot: I bought a Belkin Sata II ExpressCard and when I insert it into the slot it kind of snaps into place and you are supposed to push it in again to release/remove it. But I noticed that even when it's snapped in place you can pull it out very easily by accident. I wonder if this is a problem with the laptop, the Belkin card, or just the design of the ExpressCard slot.
2) Subwoofer: When I play a CD, the sound is pretty awesome and it definitely sounds like the sub is playing. But when I run the speaker test and it goes thru all the speakers, when it gets to the sub I don't hear any sound. Am I doing something wrong?
3) My Memory Card slot worked the first time I used it, but wouldn't work the second time. Anyone else had problems with theres?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Ekimzulad

Re: AS6920 Owners Lounge
I didn't heard a thing on that so called subwoofer, so i told them too about this problem, when I sent it to service. I hope they'll send it back working.
