Re: Aspire 5315 CPU Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide
may take a few days to a week,, i have others in line ahead of you, and people w/ corrupted BOIS's due to faulty windows flashes... and i kinda give those types of problems high priority status.
but i will get to it soon
for now 5720 and 7720 asipres my be easy swaps since the MBs in those are also ACADIA2 based.. but they do have extra buttons and more ports!
just start looking for pics of those model latop exterior (sides and front edges especially) since those are the most likely to fit w/ little to no mods needednbrsearch

Just upgraded my 4315 successfully!!!! Replaced my Celeron 530 with a Core 2 Duo T5750! I videotaped it, but not very well. I'll use Sony Vegas to patch it up and upload it to my YouTube channel.

Re: Aspire 5315 CPU Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide
CONGRATS send me a link to your youtube page when you have it uploaded so i can subscribe... still hot at the AC plug??
notice a nice little processing increase??
good info,, but common knowledge,, that is the basis of NO-NAME's desire for detailed chipset info... and i understand his concerns since he has not been exposed to this upgrade for 6 months... but from my experience and those of others as well,, a GL960 shows as a GM965 after a CORE2DUO upgrade and has all the benifits that are listed under the GM965...
but until INTEL makes thier internal procedures public knowledge, the questions he want's concrete answers too is just not going to be FULLY CONFIRMENDnbrsearch

Re: Aspire 5315 CPU Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide
GL960 Crestline 82960GL (GMCH) Celeron M, Pentium Dual-Core 533 MHz DDR2 533 2GB
GM965 Crestline 82965GM (GMCH) Core 2 Duo, Celeron M 533 / 800 MHz DDR2 533 / 667 4GB
the yellow might explain y it reads it as 965 after upgrade, does the red mean that my laptop that reads GM965 stock can handle 4gb of ram?

Re: Aspire 5315 CPU Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide
If its the 5315, then its got the GL960. Open up, and read the code printed on the chipset.
